For the last 16 months my system has been running fine with the above 17"monitor. Of recent the viewable screensize has gradually shrunk half an inch on either side (not on the top and bottom). I have tried altering the Monitor settings which are at maximum with regard to screen size and have been into control panel and tried the various screen size options to no avail. Any suggestions as to how I can restore the maximum screensize?

Take your monitor to a repair shop.
Hansol monitors have a 3 year parts and labor warranty so contact
them.
Good luck
