I have an Acer 5610 laptop. After coming back from system resume, sometimes the LCD goes black for a few seconds but then will come back to life. Is there a fix or patch from Acer for this?
I m having acer aspire 4720z. sometimes the LCD displays whole white/pink color fill on the screen and when I minimize or touch the keyboard it comes back to normal. Try holding down the power key to force it to power off. Power it back up again and you should get the Windows Resume Loader with the following options "Continue with resume" and "Delete resume data and continue with startup". I can't remember the exact wording of the options, it may be different but you need to select the later or second option "Delete resume data and continue with startup".
There is one component, the 'inverter", inside the LCD assembly that has failed. It's about $20 to buy a replacement part,
and about $60 for one hour of a qualified technician's time to disassemble your computer, replace the part, reassemble and then test your computer.
Hi. This might be an LCD issue or connector inside th LCD from the motherboard is loose. You may try troubleshooting the issue first before you send the computer for repair. This process will drain the remain electrostatic energy to your motherboard which sometime causing the issue. Please follow troubleshooting steps below.
Take out the battery and unplugged the power adapter
Press and hold the pwoer buttong for 30 secs
Put everything back in
Power ON the computer
Go into your control panel and go into the power options. Somewhere there is a way to tell it when to turn off the monitor. You can change that to off and then you shouldn't run into that problem. Just make sure you save the changes once you actually make that change.
I assume you can see a faint image on the panel but it's just not lit at all.
you cannot replace the lamp, as it is part of the lcd itself. If the laptop is in warranty, contact acer. if not, try this:
remove the lcd bezel (front plastic). peel off the sticky dots and undo the screws to remove the bezel. The inverter board will be at the bottom of the lcd panel - basically right behind the acer logo on the bezel. disconnect and reconnect the connectors on each side of the inverter board - it might just be a bad/loose connection. If this doesn't fix it, it's probably worth gambling on a new inverter board. Call acer, it's a very inexpensive part ($20 probably)
