The connection does not appear to be loose. It appears something else is causing the problem.

I can't find the pin hole your talking about on the front of the drive tray. Perhaps this could work, but, where exactly is the hole.

Hi there,

let us know if you fixed the problem.

If you haven't fixed it yet, then try pushing repeatedly the eject botton while you restart the unit at the same time, until the CD try opens up.

If you still get no luck after trying all fixes suggested already, then the unit must be taken apart, because it is likely a mechanical problem.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks.

Goodbye.

It is possible that a CD may have become stuck within the CD-ROM drive. If the CD-ROM drive has a small hole (that is not the head phone jack), using a paper clip, place the paper clip within the hole and attempt to manually eject the CD-ROM tray. If the CD-ROM drive is only partially able to be opened, attempt to pull the tray gently to see if it can be manually ejected. If it cannot be opened any further, it is likely that the gears within the CD-ROM drive have become bad, dislodged, or that a CD is positioned in the drive which does not allow it to open.

Have you tried both the remote and faceplate eject?

If the tray drive is defective - professional repair service will be required.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Let's try an easy one; on power off, press the eject and hold while powering on or push the eject 3 times consecutively.

If the above will not open, then the unit has a mechanical problem internal and would require to be removed, opened and looked into. Often this could either be a cut or deformed belt or lubrication in the eject mechanism has dried up.

Pls post back results. Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

There is a small pinhole on the front of the drive tray, open up a
paperclip & insert it into the hole & firmly push in which forces the
tray out ejecting the disk.

You may have a loose connection inside the unit not allowing the drawer to open. its run on a flat wire that plugs in on the circuit board and could have come loose. id check that out and see if its the problem

if you take the top off the machine there where the dvd player part is is a small motor...if you turn that motor br hand(with your fingers) it should open the cd drawer. you dont have to have the unit plugged in to do it but it will open the drawer for you

How to open cd drawer

Oh my God, the answers I\'ve found on the net on how to get the CD drawer on a Crosley CR247 open are all nuts. Mine wouldn\'t open yesterday and I dismantled the whole damn thing to get the tray open, but that isn\'t necessary.

First of all my unit was making noise when I hit the eject button but the drawer wouldn\'t open. I knew there was no CD in the tray. Powering down and all the other foolish answers I found didn\'t work. There is no small round hole in the front to do a manual eject. Trying to pry the door open won\'t work and you\'ll just damage the unit. Here\'s what you need to do. And do it all GENTLY. There is no need to force anything!

Take a small, pointed steak knife out of your kitchen silverware drawer. This is all you\'ll need to get the drawer open. First let\'s identify where we\'re going to put that knife blade. The CD drawer says "CD RECORDER" and there are 3 lines on each side of that label. Where you\'re going to put that knife is below the 3 lines on the left, to the left area of those lines (see picture). This is the location of the drawer lock.

If you still hear noise when you push the eject simply push in the knife gently as you push the eject button. The drawer will open if you got the right spot.

If you hear no noise, or your unit is dead and you want the CD out, or if you\'re just afraid to stick the knife in the unit, unplug the unit. Gently push in on that spot until the drawer pops out a little bit. Now you can gently open the drawer by hand.

You can see the drive belt and pulleys (see pic). Mine was still intact but needs replaced. Here is also the info I got off of the back of the CD (see pic). Might not be able to find a replacement belt but at least you can get the thing open. Good luck.

Problem with the cd changer on my RCA Total Power 5 disc changer system

Unfortunately, it sounds like the relay or motor to open the drawer is either stuck or dead, which can cause the entire system not to play the discs even if the drawer is closed. First, try calling RCA Customer Support to see if warranty service/exchange can be made for the unit. Second, try taking it back to where it was purchased. IF all else fails, You can disassemble the unit (this voids the warranty - do at your own risk) and try to identify the motor and drawer mechanism- try removing the main casing to your stereo (unplugged of course) and ensure that the small belts & gears that operate the drawer mechanism are all in good working order by gently operating them by hand. If not, you can replace or try a repair, but it honestly may be cheaper (and better for your sanilty) to buy a new system.

On my amp the protection light apperas when i hook the rcas up (red and white cables), i changed the leads looked at all the other leads eg power earth etc. do you have any ideas, many thanx wayne

turn down the amps gain and radio volume to lowest.

a. disconnect the RCAs at the source end. (at the head unit)
b. connect only 1 RCA at a time to the amp. ok?/fails?
still fails? u have a short in the RCA wire. toss it.

didnt fail?
a. with radio off, connect RCA to radio while RCAs are connected to amp.
fails? you've got a dead short on radio side.

does not fail? turn on radio...fails? radio is issue. (not very likely though)

my quess is that you've left out a significant observation as the probability of a shorted radio is low and you say you swapped RCAs.

Where is the button on the radio to turn on the cd player which is in the trunk

Let's see, the 98 still had a cassette player in the head unit correct?
There should be a button toward the top, far right, that says Tape/CD.
If the CD player has been disconnected, it may be necessary to 'reboot' the system to get the head unit to sync up with the CD player. Disconnecting the battery is the simplest way, but you will have to reset the anti-theft code in the radio and reprogram various memories (seats, etc) if you disconnect the battery.

CD drawer will not open or close

Hi, The CD drawer mechanism needs a new belt. They have a motor that drives the tray mechanism, and there's a small belt that drives the main gear so that pushing the drawer in gently to close it doesn't damage anything. However, once that belt breaks/wears out, the drawer will stay in whatever position it was last in.

Sounds to me like the belt drive is slipping!
Need to open her up and check tightness of belt and probably try to buy another one which will be tighter!

Sylvania 6720FDE combo tv/dvd/video

The codes for a combo set are found in the DVD settings or the VCR settings. Try the rca codes for DVD or Vcr and it should work. Although you may find that not all the functions will work properly ( ie: fast forward, open door, etc ). Good Luck
