Question about Hotpoint Aquarius WD640 Front Load Washer/Dryer
After 4 years of faultless use the dryer has suddenly taken to exactly reducing dring time by half! Everything else works fine, the heat the reverse cycle, the cool period. its just that the knob rotates at twice normal speed and therefore the time reduces by half. i.e. instead of taking 120 mins as stated on the control it only lasts for 60. Is it the control at the back of the knob and is it fixable?
The timer is an electro/\mechanical one , and is usually non repairable, the only thing you can do short of replacing it, is to remove the top cover, and clean away any fluff or dust that you can see, and spray inside the the unit with wd 40.
If this does not solve the prob, then you will have replace the timer complete.
Please rate my fixya solution.
