My psp suddenly stopped working and will not charge wont turn on at all
If your PSP suddenly stopped, check if the battery cover is fitted snugly because if it is loose even by just a bit, you will have charging issues and you will not be able to turn it on because the battery should be seated properly inside the battery slot.
I had the same problem because my battery cover had a small crack which made it a bit loose. I was supposed to get a new battery cover but I was able to resolve the issue by using a piece of paper as a padding for the battery just to get a snug fit.
It worked for me, I hope it works for you too.
Other things to check :
1. Is the battery dead (does not have charging capabilities anymore)? You can isolate this problem by using a different battery module. You can ask your friends to lend you their PSP2000 battery just for testing purposes. Inversely, ask them to use your battery with their PSP2000. See if they will have the same problem.
2. Is the Charging Adapter broken ? Same trick here as with the battery, use your friends Charging adapter and vice-versa. Checking on these three things should isolate the cause of the problem.
If the battery is busted and does not have any charging capabilities anymore, you need to replace it. If the Charging Adapter is the culprit, you should go to a professional to have it fixed. But, if both your battery and your Charger are working properly, chances are the problem lies internally. Specifically the Power switch, the Power Socket Connection module and maybe even the PSP's power supply module. You should seek professional help in these cases because these problems are quite challenging to fix even with the proper tools and the proper skill set. However, if the unit is still under warranty, Sony should cover this. You can call them at 800-345-7669.
I hope I was able to help. All the best to you.
