Question about Philips WACS700 Shelf System

Can't back up centre to external HD

I am trying to back up what is on my centre to an external HD. In the DMM screen, I can see how to move files to the centre, but not from the centre.

I had someone help me do it before, but I can't seem to figure out how they did it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi !

I strongly suggest that you discuss WACS related issues in the Streamium Café (www.streamiumcafe.com). This is where you will find an answer to your problem (look for the WACHandler" threads where you will find a link to my application ;)

Cheers !

Phillips wac700 says booting up has not been used for a while

Hello
Just unplug the device from AC mains socket and replug it after 3 minutes and see whether it helps you. If not, a firware upgrade will be necessary. The supplied PC installer CD contains Media Manager [DMM] software. it will help you to upgrade for WAC700 center. For details see DMMs' help file. Refer to the manual CONNECT YOUR PC to learn how to install the software. OK.

My WACS 700 System seems to have trouble maintaining the connection between the Centre and the station

I moved my station to another position in the house and it worked  --I think originally there were too many walls between the Centre and the station

How to add external antenna to a GE 75300 GE Slim Spacemaker

the antenna is internal (I couldnt find an external adapter) - u need to open the top (20 or so screws). Theres a "pipe" thru the back that leads pretty straight into the antennae. Hook ur metal to the closest bundle and out the pipe.

My reception still isn't perfect, but you can listen to it. I moved the ac power code to the far side and gain some improvement as well.

Not reading any cd format

Hi i have just been able to sort this problem, if your system says "NO CD" after it is inserted then the CD is not sitting right inside, solution for this is, join the philips club (free) and update the firmware and update the Gracenote software

1, insert the cd so it is in then turn it off and unplug then take another cd insert it in slowly to push the other one down a bit until it stops (may only move a couple of millimetres, you are only using the cd as it fits the slot so don’t try and insert it!!) plug the centre back in and turn the centre on, it will boot back up and eject the cd that’s still in, wait until it is fully booted and insert the cd again, that should work

OR

2, insert the cd so it is in then turn it off and unplug then you can open the product and physically push the cd down (be careful when you take the lid off as the cd will not be fully slotted down and there are a couple of cables that can pop out but they are easy to put back and obvious) Put the lid back on and plug the centre back in and turn the centre on, it will boot back up and eject the cd that’s still in, wait until it is fully booted and insert the cd again, that should work

any probs just mail back and ill help as much as i can

WACS700 NOT CONNECTING TO STATION

Mine did the same, the station was trying to connect on channel 1 wi-fi where the centre was on channel 11, check under information and wi-fi for both. I then did a restore on the station, put both into installation mode and they found each other after a few mins.

Hope this helps

Saving music on hard drive

After the MP3 songs are transferred from the PC to the Music Center via DMM, do not disconnect the power cord. The Center is updating its internal database to mark the changes of music library. Wait for around 20 minutes to let the Center update the database completely. When the internal updating is complete, you will be allowed to turn the Center into ECO Standby mode.

Creating playlist using DMM

sounds like you are switching off before mc has finished save, best software for transfwr etc can be found at http://www.lucia-mathias.com/wacs/, this is much easier than dmm and can upload tracks back to pc.
