You simply remove the two screw at the top front edge of the oven, then the grille will lift and and/or out.

Microwave oven whirpool model mt1100shq,it was workinh fine suddenly stopped and no power coming to it

Check the mains power to the microwave before you check for power to the unit. If the program controller is not working , check power - step down supply, the pads are responding- if not faulty pads- or the door switches, if the switch contact are not good then it will not trigger the processor to switch on the waveguides. If the lights or fan work without any display or action of program being triggered to start then it can be a possible fault on the main board or the processor. Sometimes insect secretion can short the board and display panel and so the processor can work in such an erratic manner. If so clean, solder and reset the board. Now identify the parts by clicking this link:

If there is no heating please do not switch on unless you have confirmed the fault. It is possible that the Magnetron is faulty, the temperature cut off is faulty or the main capacitor is short. It is also quite possible that insect can get into the oven and create soft spots. When you switch on these will create a short and make the voltage jump and in the long run damage the magnetron. Check this link to know how a microwave works:

So Remove cover after disconnecting , check for dirt/moisture in the cabin, if so wipe clean and dry, check the magnetron and area clean and use an jet air to clean off. Check the wave guide covers, if food had deposited
then it must be checked or replaced. See link:

How to change bulb in whirlpool gold microwave

If your owner's manual does not address it, it's not meant to be user-accessed, so you will need to remove the outer cover to access and change the bulb.

If it's an over the range model, you may have to remove it from the wall.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

not sure what you mean by inlet cover. However there is a fan in the unit and sometimes the fan will slip down and start clicking because it is touching the housing. check the fan and if that is not the problem then repost with what you have found. also brand and model numbers would help. the more info you give then the better we can solve your problem. thanks

The exhaust fan is not working. When you turn it

If it is running but running slow you may be able to save the fan motor that you have. I am assuming this is a counter top microwave.

First off... make that dreaded trip to your nearest appliance parts supply and buy a "Zoom Spout" oilier (Usually under $3.00)

Next (unit un-plugged) remove the 6 screws in the back of chassis cover and the 4 screws on the side.
Begin lifting the cover up to about 15 deg and pull toward the rear of the microwave so the cover unlatches. Once unlatched lift off the cover.

Use a flat bladed screwdriver that your holding way back on the handle and ground the large capacitor at least 3 times across both terminals. It may make a POP but not to worry... that is normal and your making the unit safe to work around.

Now get a paper towel and lift the fan blade with your hand gently until it just lifts briefly. Wipe off the dirt from the fan motor shaft. Underneath the fan motor use a Q tip to remove the dirt from the armature shaft.

Pull the tube out about 3 inches from the Zoom Spout Oiler (under the red cap) Lubricate the fan motor bearings upper and lower from above the bearing. It is ok to over oil just make sure you spin the fan blade by hand then lift the fan blade up and down... use the paper towel to clean up the dirt. Re-oil again to flush dirt. repeat the lifting up and down of the fan blade (full travel 1/8" or less) and wipe once again. Once your sure the bearing mating surfaces are clean and the excess oil has been cleaned up test the microwave with the cover off. Just be advised the HV capacitor is now recharged so avoid reaching into any area where there are exposed contacts. It can really ruin your day.
After your sure the fan is at full speed then re-install the cover assy by holding it over the unit with the rear elevated at a 15 deg angle... Ease the cover forward guiding the side locking tabs into the front of the chassis. Lower the cover and install all 10 screws. 4 on the side and 6 on the back.

That should do it. If not the only other option is fan motor replacement. If you determine that you need a fan motor respond with the model number and I can assist you in finding the replacement parts on-line or ;the part number so you can buy it locally at an appliance parts supply source.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Whirpool microwave MH1150XMB-1 fan is on when heating

yes , that is how it works. fan cools the magnetron so it run the same time it is heating. you have to look at the fan why it is very noisy, it could have been touching some wires or the bushings may need lubrication. you have to bring it down again, remove the fan and bench test it . lubricate the bushings if necessary.

Door is loose, microwave won't cook

The door switch mounts and possibly the door hinges need to be adjusted them tightened.

Unplug the oven, remove the cover if it's a counter top type or remove the grille and control panel if it's an over range type.

Then close the door and watch how the door latch heads on the door mesh with the door lathes and door switches.

Also check the hinges.

If the door latch heads are not activating the upper & lower door switches, then adjustment will be needed.

For many brands, you can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There is often a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

Please reply back with your brand and model number if you need more help.

Microwvae won't work

Techy, that's where I would start. There is an internal fuse. Sometimes there up front where we can get at them and somestimes we have to drop the whole oven and remove the wrapper. Unplug the microwave and remove the upper grill by removing the two screws holding it on. It will pull off forward. The control panel has 1 screw on top, remove it and lift up and tilt out. See if you can see the fuse cradle and fuse. 20 amp, part number 4358704. The diagram I have shows it more toward the back but these diagrams can be wrong. If you don't see the fuse behind the control panel you probably will have to drop the oven and remove the wrapper. back.
