I just bought a mp3 player from sansa off the shelf ,and a computer (from a friend) . my computer won't reconize the mp3 player. the mp3 did not come with a installation cd. what action should i try now?
Hi, just had the same problem after restoring my system.
You must disconnect and update your Windows Media Player to Number 11. My reinstall left me at WMP 9 and it wouldn't recognise my Clip. Go to the Windows website, follow the download instructions, and you should be fine. When you plug in the Sansa Clip or MP3, it should recognise it right away. Hope this helps!

try going to www.sansa.com click on support and then click on your model player. Go through the troubleshooting questions and find your problem. there should be a few solutions for you to try. Good luck :)
Down load the firmware on Sansa's website. I have a Sansa 250R and it wouldn't work with the new replacement usb (Griffin) cord I bought at Best Buy. So I bought a Sansa Fuze and the cord that came with it worked on the E250R. Huh? Yeah, go figure...and oh, that replacement Griffin usb cord I bought worked fine with the new Fuze. I came real close to buying a new battery for the E250R but instead invested that money in the Fuze.
my school computer can't reconize my sansa e270 and i have always use the computer here i don't know what i can do . i tried downloading the recovery device and i don't see a change is some thing wrong with my device because i let one of my friends use the device and they accidently erased all my music and now i want to put some on there and now it won't reconize my device .also i checked the hard ware it is listed under "my computer" but it says it won't activate device and it won't let me trouble shoot it. what can i do, is it broke?
I had the same problem. But then I figured it out. If you are using Windows Media Player, and it doesn't reconize it, then the VERSION does not reconize it.
The other computers might have a different version.
My computer has a version 10 and it works. Go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/AllDownloads.aspx and download a different version. (There is no harm or virus)
