SOURCE: pc stuck in sleep mode...

You will need to replace the hard drive which has any version of windows operating system, or you will have to re-install windows xp on that computer. Assuming if the computer has a green light and monitor has an orange light. I've encountered this problem where I work at.

SOURCE: PC Power Problem

a64116f.jpg08c1cf0.jpgef4690e.jpgI also have a Dell 8400 heat problem . I know the problem ! I own a $1000.00 plus Raytek laser temp gun . I had some problems and started to read about all of the Dell 8400/4400 over heating problems . I out my new heat gun and started to test the temps. on the inside of my Dell 8400 ! Socket 775,Mobo Dell 0J3492,800 Bus,Bios A09.

The non-fan Radeon x300 card was 105-115.3 F after one hour !
The heat sinks over the chipset was the big problem . 107.8-124.6f after just one hour! The P4 cpu was 93-104f .
I am very lucky to have the laser temp gun I have .

The fix . I have all kinds of old fans and hard drive coolers from computers I have trashed over the years . I got new 40mm/10mm fans on the way from the bay . I had to use some old worn out fans 40mm fans to hold me over .I ordered a new video card also . THEY WORKED ! My temps dropped down to 82-85f on the chip set and video card after running the fans

I hope this helps .36b34e9.jpg

I have a emachine that powers ou, power pack fan, cpu fan but not the hardrive. It shut down and now won't start up. No beeps

Unplug from AC, open the case, clean if necessary, reseat the memory mods, use Electronic Contact Cleaner spray on contacts, plug in, push the on/off button. Does it begin to start, and in a few seconds completly shuts down? No LED's , no fans, nothing? Sounds like a PSU failure. Mine went out in 6 years.

MY SAMSUNG P35 LAPTOP STOP ITSELF ON BATERY AND AC POWER

This maybe heat problem.
When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is theproblem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed airto do this.

Hp laptop has blinking red square above touch pad, comp. won't allow for reboot or restoring to factory conditions

If you do an illegal shut down which is power off by holding down the power switch for 8 seconds. The HP computer will then boot with the scandisk program, which will restore your hdd to perfection. Windows XP or later now use 'system restore' to rearrange registry from a previous calender date that the computer used to work perfectly.

Start with pulling the battery and power, then hold the power button in for about 30-40 seconds. Then plug the power back in (still no battery). Try to power up the computer. If it boots, shut it down and put the battery in and try again. If it boots the issue was cleared. If it boots with the power cord but not with the battery added, you have a battery issue.

Hope this helps
