I have Konica Minolta 4650 DN. I printed out a dark picture and put the paper back in the printer by accident. Now all my pages print smudged broken lines going down the paper. Please help me!

Just print 20 or 30 pages with nothing, or only a little dot or something. Your printer is polluted and needs to be cleaned. Sometimes it is enough just to run a few empty pages. If this isn't enough, look at your manual how to clean your drum and fusing unit.

Color Print Quality

In my experience, the fuser has always been the cause of the lines.

I have a Xerox Phaser 6100. I just replaced the imaging unit and the transfer belt. Now my copies are coming out with lines across the whole page. one page that I printed came out wiht all colored lines...

Try doing a "stop test." Stop the print process at various stages, and see if which component creates the defect.
For instance, if a print takes 20 seconds, during the first 10 seconds, the drum is generating the image to transfer to the belt. If the image is bad on the drum, then that is your culprit. If not, then see which unit creates the problem.

Also, what color is the line?
After the unit gets to the transfer belt, you should check the transfer roller and fuser.

I have replaced the fuser unit and fuser oil, and still getting streaks different places on the paper. Ricoh Aficia CL 7000

One or more of the drum units or the transfer belt cleaning blade is bad. Only way to tell is to remove each drum and check the surface for the toner "streaks". You can also pull out the transfer belt and check the surface for the streaks. It will be one or the other. Now if you streaks are of a particular color then that points more to the drum of that color.

Black vertical lines on laserjet 4650 print out

99% of the time, this is the imaging drum or fuser.

Pull the imaging unit (same as imaging drum - they are interchangable) and examine the greenish glass tube. Does it have black streaks along the same lines that are on the paper? If so, then it needs cleaning / replacing. Don't touch the glass!! Use Q-tips and rubbing alcohol to gently clean the lines off. Air dry and replace into the machine.

If the imaging unit doesn't have lines, then it's the fuser. This can be replaced as part of a maintenance kit. If you've been using the printer regularly for more than 9-12 months, It's probably time for a Maintenance Kit for the machine anyway, which includes a fuser. I recommend Parts Now (http://www.partsnow.com/) for replacement kits, which have instructions on how to install with them.

Hp 4550 vertical line down center of page

From the service manual:

Vertical lines or streaks
Check for a leak where light might be entering the printer.
Check for circumferential scars on the photosensitive drum. If scars are present, replace the
drum cartridge if the line goes through all colors.
Check for circumferential scars on the upper fusing roller. If scars are present, replace the upper
fusing roller if the line goes through all colors.
Remove the imaging drum and inspect main charger or imaging drum for a contaminant, such as
a fiber, if the line goes through all colors.
CAUTION Do not expose the imaging drum to light for more than 15 seconds. The drum is light sensitive, and
exposure to light can cause permanent damage.
Vertical black lines
 The toner cartridge is defective.
The toner cartridge is not seated properly.
 The fuser entrance is dirty.
The fuser has scratches on it.
This might be a repetitive defect. If so, the lines will repeat at a consistent interval down the page.
The printer needs to be cleaned.
There is a problem in the heating element.
Vertical white lines
If white lines or streaks appear only in the black areas of the printed media, print several
configuration pages to clear the anomaly. If this does not clear the problem, check the sleeve
surface to confirm the defect, then replace the black toner cartridge.
If white lines appear only in a particular color, try printing several configuration pages to clear the
error. If the error does not clear, check the sleeve surface to confirm the defect, then replace the
defective toner cartridge.
There is a lack of toner or the toner cartridge is faulty.
There is dirt in the laser path.
 The fuser is defective.
A mirror in the laser scanner is dirty.

Dell 3100cn Smudges on all color except black

Sounds like the fuser. Try heavier paper settings (you have to change them in all 3: driver, printer itself and program you are printing from). If that doesn't work replace the fuser.

Ricoh Aficio CL3500N is now printing all documents with lines/streaks all down the left margin of the page. What do I clean or replace to get rid of these unsightly lines printing on every page?

you can try printing a page in black only, then one page each in the 3 other SINGLE colors: Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow. this will eliminate/ confirm one of these causing problem.

the replacement of Transfer Belt Cleaner or Cleaner Assembly is another to try after the above separate-color thing. see if there's a status page of life remaining on replaceable items, including the Transfer belt assy.

i'll assume you didn't scan the job- - this isn't a multifunction scanner/printer type machine?

ok, next in line is to check the Fuser unit, the part on the upper left side/top of printer. if the same streaks appear on the Main fuser rollers, these fuser units cost about 350 bucks. there is also a Fuser Kit, which costs much less, but its job is to add Fuser Oil to the fuser unit and keep paper and ink from sticking.
a guy could suffer sticker shock from the costs of running one of these, considering you could drop a grand buying all 4 drum units, a fuser unit, and a transfer belt assy. . . .

Faint printout

So we all understand; there is no ink your printer. In an inkjet printer, liquid pigment is sprayed from print heads directly on the paper where it dries and makes an image. Your printer has toner, which is a pigmented powder. I'm sure you found this when you cleaned the waste toner container.

The simple:
A laser printer draws an image on a rotating drum which then rolls into a tub of toner. Anywhere the laser hit, toner sticks, where it didn't hit, it doesn't stick. The drum rolls over a piece of paper (transfer belt with 1-pass color) and the toner rubs off onto the paper - it's still powder. The paper then goes through an oven (developing drum or fuser) which melts the toner onto the paper. BaM! Out comes your document.

A consistent line going from top to bottom of every page printed means one of the following:
1) A band of evil is thinly encircling the imaging drum causing it to pick up toner where it has not been hit by the laser. Check the imaging drum for lines that match the ones on your paper. Replace if necessary.
2) The transfer belt has a line of evil on it. Look at the belt in the right light in order to see scratches and such. Replace as necessary.
3) If your streak is an anti-streak, which is the LACK of toner. You need a new imaging drum. It's damaged. Unless it's a smudge, then its the fuser.

You can clean things inside very carefully with a cloth, but I always use compressed air. The CLP-300 is very compact and cheap and is not really made to be repaired. Replace the parts, or throw it away.

I understand that at this time July 18, 2008, you can purchase this unit for as low as $99 US after mail-in rebate. Check your local or online (newegg) retailer.

Ricoh Aficio cl2000

Most of the time when I find this happening on a printer, not just Ricoh's it turns out to be the PCU (photo conductor unit). The color PCU is one unit and the black is a seperate unit. Hope this helps.
