the dryer duct itself from the inside of the dryer connected to the blower housing has probably collapsed, they are no longer available, but you could make your own new one from elbows and straight pipe to replace the old one
when it comes to whitegoods old is good. your dryer will outlast most new ones. buy the new parts it will b lot cheaper than a new dryer. not much goes wrong with the old simpsons. please reply if u need more help
How old is this unit? Usually these locks cost an arm and a leg. This is especially true with units like: G.E, Frigidaire, Hotpoint...These are units that are owned and operated under General Electric. First, if you have a volt-ohm-meter, do a continuity check on the switch itself. Then if that checks out, your next culprit would be the main control board (most likely).
your blower fan screws onto the end shat of the motor. Now the direction? It could be reverse threads. Since you are changing out the motor stick a screw driver in the old motor to lock it up and try righty-lefty to loosen your fan. don't damage the fan with tools. Go here and see if your fan is shown www.repairclinic.com
Depending on age of unit.. there are 2 screws on each side of the console (older unit) on newer unit you have 2 white plastic covers.. pop those out and unscrew the 2 screws and lift up the console.. you have to get to the starter switch from the back of console.. good luck..
If yuo are referring to the catch on the door, then undo all the scews holding the 2 halves of the door together, and prize apart, fit new door catch.
If you mean the door lock, then you will have to remove the top cover and right hand side panel to access the door lock.
Hope this helps.
