fixya is a how-to website, it would be great, if you write how-to-descriptions. CAPITALS aren't helpful. Thank you.

When you cycled the power, did you just push the power button?

If so, to really do a power cycle you need to unplug, let sit off for 30 seconds, then plug back in.

"system error power cycle"

Disconnect the power cord and USB cable (or printer cable) for about 30 seconds then restart. That will usually clear error messages.

Error 900.44 .... RIP Software

The error relates to the system board / formatter.

R.I.P = Rest in Peace

Turn off machine for 10 minutes.

If error persists follow theses steps:

1. ) If the machine is networked disconnect the cable and power cycle. If the error doesn't come back up swap the network cable, with a good one.

2.) Firmware upgrade

3.) Replace the system board

Based on my experience it's either the network cable or the system board.

> CYCLE POWER

Turn the printer off.
Disconnect the power-cable from the wall-outlet.
Reconnect the power-cable.
Turn the printer on.

This is the full "cycle" from ON to OFF to ON.

For Xerox 3210 printer, after replacing the Print Cartridge, it is showing "Toner exhausted'. What is the solution?

Here's what my Service Manual for the WorkCentre 3210 States:
  • Replace the Print Cartridge
  • Cycle system power
  • If problem persists, refer to the following procedure.
  1. Check the Toner Remaining Count. Is the cartridge at or near end of life?
  2. If yes, replace the cartridge
  3. If no, Reseat the print cartridge and cycle the system power. Does the problem persist?
  4. if yes, Reseat CN20 on the Main Controller Board and cycle system power.Does the error persist?
  5. If yes, check for +3.3V @ CN20-4.
  6. Is there 3.3V @ CN20-4?
  7. If yes, replace Print Cartridge
  8. If no, Replace the Main Controller Board.
If you've already replaced the cartridge and rebooted the printer and it still gives the error and your machine is still under warranty or a service contract. Contact your Xerox Service Provider and let them do all the stuff I mentioned above. That's what you're paying them the monthly maintenance agreement for!

System error --> software inside the printer has detected some sort of "software" error.

Cycle power -> disconnect the AC power.
Wait a few seconds.
Reconnect the AC power.

System Error Cycle Power

That error is not listed in the manual, could be a fuser problem, sensor problem, or the main PCB is defective. They have a one year warranty, hope it's still within that period!

HP Photosmart 3310 all in way Error Ink System had Failed 0xc18a0101

I had this same exact problem. Try doing:
1. Unplug the power cord from printer.
2. Hold both o.k and Cancel simultaneously.
3. Plug the power cable while holding the buttons.

After I did this my printer reconfigured like it used to do and it was like it was new again.... well new plus a headache a managed to get while reading all these little posts. I hope this helps!
