    I second that!

Yes. The belt on the Eureka Boss Smartvac Upright 4870 breaks repeatedly. Mine was under warranty, and it was only a few months old, so I exchanged it for a new one (same brand and model). It does the same thing. And it's hard to change the belt.
I'm going to call Eureka and see what I can do about it. Check back.

SOURCE: My Eureka Boss vacuum belt keeps breaking

I have been searching the machine for something which could be rubbing against the belt to cause it to fray and break as often as it does. So far, I haven't found anything. I have heard that the belts, called ribbon belts, are terrible! I find that the belts break faster when I use the hose. I haven't found a way to make a belt last longer.

SOURCE: I have a eureka power paw that keeps breaking

Make sure the roller and turbine bushings are clear of obstructions (hair, etc) and spin without excess resistance. As for a lack of barrier or belt guide, make sure that the bushing blocks on either end of the roller (and turbine, but most importantly the roller) are installed identical to each other (otherwise the roller may be in on an angle causing the belt to mis-track). Possibly a part may be missing or improperly installed, but not likely. What's important to remember is Eureka (Electrolux Homecare Products) designed the Power Paw as a cheap, quick source of income to add onto their uprights to cash into the ever-lucrative market of pet owners dealing with pet hair. Like their upright vacuums, Eureka/lux know extremely well the importance of designing their product with a very FINITE life-expectancy, and hence expecting this product to be anything of a long-term or durable solution is evidence only of you having been mislead by marketing. Of all the turbine-driven tools in use today, this one is the most inexpensive, disposable I've had the pleasure of working with. I got one free when they hit the scene. I took it back to work still in the package after seeing its track record evolve.

Long-term solution if you love these turbine-type tools? (and you should, they're great and solve major issues. I own several different ones and am very attached to them as attachments!). Go to a vacuum store and find a robust, long-life version of what these little things are trying to be. They're in a higher dollar-range, but so's a Power Paw if you start replacing it every few months. Ask for one made by Wessel-Werk. German engineering, been around for decades. The made-in-china knock-offs are better than the power paw, but if you're up for it, the actual tool made by Wessel is the benchmark by miles. The only thing possibly comparable in long-term quality and durability is called a RugRat by guys in our industry, and sold by Vacuflo and Kirby and such for decades and decades now. Most vacuum vendors should be able to hook you up. :)

SOURCE: My Eureka Boss vacuum belt keeps breaking

How long hace you had your vacuum? THe belts on this vacuum are actually supposed to last a really long time. If the belts brake faster when your using the hose that impies your clutch which tightens and loosens your belt to keep the brush from spinning while the vacuum is upright couild be malfuntioning. If you post your serial number i can tell you if your still under manufacturers warranty.

My belt keeps breaking too, but worse is that I can't find out the size for replacing. Who knows the size I need for the Eureka Power Paw?

Belts keep burning and breaking on turbopower 7100

If a roller brush does not rotate freely, the motor shaft spins in one place on the belt until it heats it up and breaks it. Roller brushes can become clogged on the ends, especially with pet hair. The solution is to remove the roller brush completely and inspect onder the endcaps, removing them if necessary to clean them completely. The roller brush should be reinstalled carefully, observing the upward orientation of the arrows on the end caps. Check operation before assuming that the problem has been solved

Belts keep breaking

Check to make sure the brush runs freely before you try to replace the belt. The front brush bearings often become clogged with hair or strands of cotton and once this happens it becomes difficult to get it to rotate and then the belt will fail. Once you've removed it, unscrew the end caps and clear out all debris and then inject a small volume of oil or silicone spray and reassemble. This should fix the problem!

How to replace belt on vacuum cleaner

This URL will take you to a site and show you the Eureka 7600 series of vacuums and the owner's manual that shows how to replace the belt:
As long as you are taking the beater brush off to change the belt, please take the time to clean the beater brush and lubricate the space between the brush and the holders found on each end with some WD40. Frozen beater brushes are often the cause of belts breaking.
Please let me know if there are any problems with this.

Old Hoover Convertible Upright U4109 keeps breaking belts. I just replaced the belts twice and both broke within 2 minutes.

Did you make sure the brush that the belt turns is free to move? Sometimes they get bound up and will not turn and as a result, the belts either burn or break. Remove the roller brush, clean the ends and remove any debris, lubricate the ends of the rollers where they are held by the stationary brackets and re-install with belt in correct position. Belt must be installed in the proper manner as well.

Belt on power head breaks frequently

1. Make sure you're replacing with genuine Filter Queen belt.
2. Avoid vacuuming items that will roll up on the brush. This creates stress on the belt and will weaken and/or break it.
3. How frequently? "Frequently" is a relative term. On some vacuums, once a week is "frequent", on others, twice a year may be.

Bissell Lift OfF Brush Roller Stops Rotating

They make the worst machines, the rollers are cheap and they make it so you cant take them apart to clean them. You don't want a dyson either, they aren't any better for pets. With all that hardwood floors you should get a good canister vacuum, sebo and miele are the best.
