Question about Logitech Z-680 Speakers and DVD218 System

3 Answers

Logitech Z-680 Hi, I have a 3 year old set of Logitech z-680's. Suddenly stopped working6 months ago, called logitevh, even though out of warranty they sent me a new fuse (to go in the back of the amp/subwoofer) that fixed the problem. Two weeks later, blew the fuse again. I cannot find the fuse to buy anywhere. Also, would love to have the problem fixed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. PS i live in UK. Thank you...

Samsung htz510 wont read dvd or cd? It just says loading for ever and then says error???

I have the same issue, along with a Rear Check issue at power up, and the fan stopped working about a month ago, so three strikes and your out, I would not recommend this product due to the quality. My Oniko was purchased years ago and is still going strong, I moved to an apartment and wanted the wireless ease with the back speakers, never again with this brand. My Samsung LCD is acting up now too, it is only 15 months old, and won't power up right away takes like 5 attempts, unreal

Loss of sound Bose 321 System

Do you have the reciept? Not sure if you've checked back with sams, but just recently I found out they back their tvs and sound systems. Take it back, they will give you a full credit for what you paid. A friend just recieved credit on a 1994 model tv he paid $2500 for with reciept. He recieved every dime! Of course it went to a new tv because his went bad. This is not getting over on sams, they will tell you the same thing, I've asked. You basically have a lifetime warrenty with certain types of electronics at sams. I suggest you take that one back, get the new 321 version they stock and you'll probably even recieve some cash back.

DVD won't play

had the same issue, Bose 18 played no problem for 2.5 years and then started acting up.
sometimes power reset helped sometimes not.
finaly go tired of it and took the system apart.
Inside is little customized toshiba dvd ide drive set as master.
Same as in normal computer but with different front so works in Bose.
Took apart DVD and cleaned with the laser lens with windex.
Works perfectly now.

I took the long run. If somebody has dentist mirror and some precise tools maybe you can reach the lens without taking everything apart.
maybe somebody sells special disc for cleaning lenses?

I hope this helps.

Insignia model NS-DXA1 digital converter box

I have heard alot of people having the same type of problem with booth the insigna and the Magnavox boxes. Check the warranty that came with the unit and and call the 1800 number, they may be covering the unit for more then three months. Insigna is the Best Buy brand thus thus if calling the maker of the box (LG) doesn't get it fixed, speak to the store manager. He can exchange the unit if he wants to because Insigna is the store brand. Call Best Buy and complain and complain unit they take back the defective unit.

Remote control for Z-680

I have 2 sets of speakers systems for the Logitech Z-680
Both sets included Subwoofer and 5 speakers.

Note: there is no controller on both just the speakers

I bought one set and the Controller went out.
Logitch sent me a new Z-680 system then the second controller went out but speakers work great.
1 system speakers were never used
2 system speakers used for about 4 yrs (speakers work great)

Also have 2 remotes (never used)

Both speaker systems are for sale
Remotes will sell seperatly or with systems

If in need of the subwoofer speakers must go along

Email me if interested

DVD freezing up

It very well could be a lens problem.
When the laser is in a desperate search for more data, it can max out the whole unit trying to find it. Same thing will happen with a PC's dvd drive if you put a dvd in and it is scratched or damaged.

The lens in your unit may not be dirty, but it may need to be calibrated again. Knocks in transport, dust, bugs, general use etc etc can all have an effect on the laser.

The fact it's doing it in a cycle could also be heat related. Again this goes back to the calibration. If the laser is working far harder then it should, it will heat up and begin to fail.

Since it is only a few months old though, I would call in on the warranty to have it looked at without causing you further grief.

Control and amplification circuit boards are not recieving power

If there are no visable ways to get into the box from the back then you must remove the speaker from the from and gain access through the hole the speaker came out of. It is not too uncommon for speaker units to built this way. Good luck.

Need help fixing

I had the same problem a couple years ago with mine. After letting it set for several months, I tried to plug it in again after moving into another house. All of a sudden, it started working again. That was 1 year ago, but just last did it again. I noticed that it does this if it is left on for an extended amount of time (my wife goes to bed at night and leaves it on). I cannot find anything on how to fix it, and no warranty assistance from RCA. I'm purchasing a Sony today, but will hold onto the RCA in case it decides to work again.
