The most complete packages are still Norton and Macafee.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Top 5 Paid Anti-Virus Software

With the brand-new Windows 7 operating system released late last year, many computer users opt to install some sort of anti-virus. There are free versions available, but are not routinely kept up-to-date as a paid version. Plus paid versions offer a better support and look nicer to the eye. Here are my best anti-virus programs for 2010.

1. GData Anti-Virus 2010
www.gdata-software.com $25 (one year, single PC license)
Based off of two free anti-viruses BitDefender and Avast, German developed GData brings the two together to form the best anti-virus. GData detected 99.95% of all threats tested and offered the best detection of adware. With its relative low-cost GData is my recommendation for best anti-virus.

2. Symantec Norton Anti-Virus 2010
www.symantec.com $40 (one year, single PC license)
Coming in a close second is the more popular Norton Anti-Virus. The detection rate was 99.49%, just shy of GData. With a great user interface and design, Norton remains one of the better anti-virus programs in 2010 and may better suit non-techie users.
3. Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010
www.kaspersky.com $60 (one year, three PC license)
In previous years, Kaspersky has always been at the top, but with this year it has slid down to third. Kaspersky has a wide range of features including a firewall and advanced virus blocking but fails to provide a slick, user-friendly interface unlike the first two anti-virus programs which can get frustrating and confusing. The malware detection also lacks which maybe a problem on some users PC's.

4. BitDefender Anti-Virus 2010
www.bitdefender.com $30 (one year, three PC license)
BitDefender is a decent anti-virus program. Although the detection rate is 99.66%, the second best in the field. What it lacks is a good user interface and fails to remove threats. Only 90% of threats detected were removed successfully. This is defiantly a bargain on price but lacks in some areas where it maybe useful.

5. Panda Anti-Virus Pro 2010
www.pandasecurity.com $50 (one year, three PC license)
Panda Anti-Virus Pro had a 99.83% detection rating, earning it the best in the field. Although it can detect threats, it did poorly in behavioral scans of the PC. Panda also does not come with its own firewall, unlike all the anti-virus programs mentioned. The user interface needs some work around the edges and design could be better. Panda will get the job done, but is a last-ditch option for paid anti-virus programs.

Before you buy, make sure to do research and know what product you want to buy. Don't let the sales people influence you to go with the costlier option, because they say its better. Trust your research and be smart.

My husband added an anti virus last Sunday to Toshiba Satellite L450 - 18D but broadband speeds are very slow since. The provider to me to check that ports80,8080, 21,25,22 are open but I don't know how...

I don't think you'd normally need to check those at all. They wouldn't change just because you put in a new anti-virus. If you're using a good firewall, that can be causing it too, and if you have a good firewall with an anti-virus in it, that can be why. It also could have nothing to do with that. Could be simply the size of the files you download, your internet carrier, or even the time of day. Time of day matters especially at 2:07 am where I am, due to banks heavy use of the internet "highway" then. Wish i knew what anti-viris you installed. If it's Online Armor, that can actually slow it down, but it's the BEST PC software, firewall & anti-virus both. It's way worth the lack of speed to have the total security. I actually uninstalled it once due to the slow downloads, then a year or 2 later tried it again & I LOVE it now! It's much more than just a firewall or anti-virus! I wouldn't try messing with ports, really! You could let in some big bad guys that way. I'd say if an anti-virus needs to have me open ports just because of it, I'd get rid of it. Really. That's like putting a new lock on a door but not shutting the door. See if you can figure out what's really causing it, & if it's the anti-virus, decide if what it does is worth the extra time. Online armor is definitely worth it. Several probably are. If you can't feel it's worth it & you are SURE it's the anti-virus causing it, ask for a refund. Norton is NOT on my list of favorites, for many reasons. Kaspersky is good. AVG is good. Check online for comparisons and reviews. Be sure before you ask for a refund, as you may love it later.

I have webroot anti-virus and it consistently is being turned off after I get on the internet. Is it likely malware or a virus causing this? Actually, it is the firewall that is being turned off.

Chances are it's a virus or malware. Download an anti-virus program to a disk or to a flash drive. Run it and see if you can find a virus. Here's a link to one of the best anti-virus progams. (In my opinion)

Hope you solve the problem. You might also try Malwarebytes

Please tell me whichanti virus is best for my PC

That's like asking which car company is best or which cell phone company. Ten people would give you ten different answers.

There's a couple free ones that are some what highly regarded: AVG Free is beloved many people as is MS Security Essentials.

I couldn't speak to the quality of paid solutions like McAfee or Norton as I haven't used them in many years. As long as you have something it should be better than nothing at all!

When you install New Antivirus, after installing, the FIRST thing that it does is search, your entire computer for any traces of Virus, and will deal with them. The BEST AV, is Symantec Corporate, copy Ver 10 & up,, this actually works, is low on system resources, just Google for it, and download,

My laptop has a virus, how can i remove this?

If you don't know what virus you have, how do you know you have one.

Anti-virus software removes a virus, unless you tell me what virus you have
I can't explain how to remove it manually.

Download two things, they are free,

Avira free anti-virus, this is the second best anti-virus software on the planet, and I am not saying this because a friend told me, this is based on actual testing.

Next, download Malwarebytes, they also have a free version.

Below I will post the links for both, these will take care of anything you have. Unless you only think you have a virus, and it just a windows problem.

It says

Avira AntiVir Personal - Free Antivirus
http://www.avira.com/en/download/index.php

http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Look down the page, and you will see the download button.

I you have a virus, this will take care of it, and if you need more help just
ask.
