Wireless connection problem on samsung r60 plus

Bought a Samsung laptop Model R60 plus for Christmas. The signal strength is very bad. To connect to the internet, you need to be in the same room as the wireless modem.

Can anyone help.

Many thanks for your prompt reply. I tried changing the channels to both 1 and 11 and had the same result. We have a second laptop in the house, an Advent 7201 and it works fine reading a maxium of 5 bars around the house and even out in the garden.

If one works does this suggest a problem with the Samsung or might there be another soloution with the Modem/Router which is a Zoom x6.

    Thanks again.

Solved the problem. The wire going to the atenna inside the memory bay had become detached. I reconnected and the computer works fine with a strong signal.

Is your wireless built into the laptop or is connected via USB port such as the Beklin USB Wireless network adapter?

  • machadojr_fe May 11, 2010

Please try changing the channel on the router. 1 and 11 normally give the best signal. Let me know the results.

Try this:

Plug ito your router with a network plug (ethernet adaptor) in a web browser enter the router access code (192.1.1.100) or check with your router manual to access the router. once in the router add the PC to the network this should allow you to access the network at full strenght

Hi there
if you are seeing the network and are able to connect to it but it is getting dropped normally this wouyld lead to the signal not being that strong you can try to move the computer it doesnt take tot much to change the signal strength and see if the signal get' s better it should tell you how your signal is ok

Samsung r60 plus notebook keyboard removal

Just need to remove the two screws on the rear marked KBD then turn the computer over and unclip the 7 tabs around the keyboard - 3 at the front and 2 either side, then carefully pull the keyboard up and towards you to release it at the back.
