If the red haze is not convergence---that requires parts.
The set has three picture tubes---with set unplugged and back cover removed clean the three large lens that are topside---as for the red haze a quick way to know what is wrong is with set on turn the color to zero----what color is the screen? Should be black and white--if red to some degree tracking or screen controls may need adjusting inside the set---Yellow picture in that situation is a different issue.
I need to know first if your TV is on standby mode (red LED lit) or not?..If the green light lit your TV your high voltage (HV) is switch but you have open line on heater that cause of no picture and the sounds is chirping because of analog(antenna)/digital connection or bad audio chips..

Inside of the tube assembly, there is a cooling liquid. This could be a job to change, and then re-adjust everything. It is also possible that on top of this, there are problems with the convergence and bias control circuits.
Typical repairs can run in the area of about $400 to about $800 depending on the amount of work and type of parts required.
Personaly, I would go out and get a good Plasma or LCD TV at this point!
sound s like the HV generator (flyback) This is repairable with a new flyback if that is indeed whats happening. Take the back off and dont touch anything but try powering up the set and see if the noise is coming from a part that looks like this with 4 big red wire coming from
It sounds like the CRT COOLANT needs replacement, it is a fluid that trys too keep the picture tubes cool , but it some times get "dirty". The fluid is called 'PROJECTION TV COOLANT', it contains; High Concentration of Ethylene Glycol. You can purchase at M.A.T. Electronics; (215) 354-7667, in PA. Part Number 212072-16.
BUY at least 2 containers. CAUTION: remove tubes from TV, just alot of plugs, remove plugs, clean "fluid" chamber, replced discarted fluid. Good Luck, big IRISH. PS more INFO; come back.
Sounds like the flyback or the picture tube. Either items can cause this. If the pop comes from the rear right side its the flyback. If the sound comes from the lower front behind the speaker grille its the tube. Let me know what you discover as I have access to any of the parts you would need.
