Hdc sd1 not responding

When i try to turn the camcorder on, it makes the usual turning on noise an the LED comes on at the back, but the LCD does not apear to turn on even if i open and close it and the camera does not seem to respond to any button pressing.

i can't even turn it off again unless i press the reset button, and no, that dosn't fix the problem even if i hold it down for 20 seconds.

Need the serial no for my panasonic HDC-SD1 camcorder

Do a model number search instead of serial no. The manufactor's website usually go by model instead of serial number, for that purposes.

IMovie capture is poor quality.

hello referring to the SD1 from Panasonic, i recommend to deinterlace the captured clips with "JES Deinterlacer" before editing them with imovie. be careful to use "apple intermediate code" at the output of JES Deinterlacer. i clearly get better results this way, max recommendable size at 1280x720p when exporting QT files... kind regards, bruno

i came across the same problem and even though you seem to be powering the cam from the usb lead and battery, you also need to plug the ac adapter into the camcorder otherwise it won't let you go any further, asuming i'ts not plugged in already, the question isn't that clear...

meanwhile my hdc sd1 is not even turning on, so think yourself lucky

remove the SD card from the camplug it into your PC. If it has no card slot, get a USB card reader. Less than $20 usually. Make sure the card reader can handle the SDHC (hi-capacity) cards if you plan to use those. If XP recognizes the card it will appear like an additional hard disk. Open it in windows explorer, check the directories until you find your video or photos and copy those to the hard disk.
