Re: Data Recovery from a broken Tecra A4 notebook.
Get yourself a 2.5 hard drive box (no hard drive in it) costs less than a tenner on ebay. Remove hard drive from current laptop, put it in hdd box, connect to another computer via usb provided and you will be able to read from it like it's a flash drive or cd. Then just copy files you need to other laptop or CD or flash drive. No damage done to original hard drive.

Hard reset or factory wipe is a method of formatting any Android device ( tablet or mobile). By doing hard reset all the apps and files that are installed or created by the user will deleted. Even the memory card will get formatted. So before going for hard reset or factory swipe, it is suggested to remove the memory card if you do not want data to be erased
For simple factory reset the process is follows:
Goto settings -> Back & reset -> factory data reset
After factory reset, only pre installed apps and files that came with the device will remain on it.

If the computer was formatted and was untouched after you will need recovery software to get the data back GetDataBackNTFS is really good costs about $59. If the computer no longer boots into windows you will need to pull the drive out (Typically 2 screws on back) Should be a small panel with a picture of little discs on it. Plug it into another computer. If it is detected you can simply copy and paste to the second computer, then put the drive back into the laptop and use your system recovery discs to restore the computer back to factory default and copy your data back over. If you plug the drive into another computer and it is not detected, the drive is probably damaged and would require a data recovery company to retrieve the data this can cost from $500-2000 depending on the recovery method.

You will need to have someone pull the hard drive out of the laptop and extract the data from it. Chances are the data is still fine and can be retrieved. Your best bet is to find a local mom and pop type shop that can do this for you.
