Not able to down load video from my Panasonic videto Mac Pro 3.1

I am trying to download a video from my panasonic video camera to my Mac 3.1 video editing software Final Cut express, I am using a USB connection from the camera to the computer. The program Final cut express does not recognize that the camera is connected. The camera is 3 years old and the computer is new. Originally I was using a PC with Pinnacle video editing, same camera, same down load method, without any problem

Because final cut express only support.dv,mpeg-4 and .mov formats.
so you must convert your video files to fce support formats, such as .mp4.

Basically mac does not like USB, it is bad and uses burst of information not suitable to video so FCP kinda ignores the option. It works ok for the transfer of non-realtime info. Can you not use DV to FW. Loads of people are having this issue as MAC have dropped it with the new MacBook to in my opinion force people to buy MBP.

Hello, could you advice where I could purchase Panasonic NV-GS150 DV Camera MAC OSX 10.5 Support? I cannot connect my Panasonic NV-GS150 DV camera with my MacBook Pro. Thanks a lot for your help!...

Panasonic usually includes the Mac software program "Imagemixer 3" that imports the videos/photos you have on your camera. If the software isn't included with your camera, try Googling around for the program and it should come right up! I hope this helps. - Omn1cide
