Re: Averatec 2300 wont install windows XP
If you get the Windows splash screen (which you indicate you do), then the system is working. Unfortunately, when Windows starts, it is trying to use the video card drivers. It appears that the drivers may be corrupt. The initial way to check this is to hit F8 as it is starting to see if you can start windows in safe mode. If you can, go into the device manager and remove the display adapter you see there. When Windows starts, it should find it and either ask you for the drivers or start with generic drivers that work until you provide the correct ones.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

Before you install XP check the memory, harddrive, cddrive is getting detected in CMOS or not. What about the data in your harddrive?
connect the harddrive to another PC and copy the Data from the drive. If not you will lose all the data on the harddisk if you install the XP on the same disk.
If you had mentioned the system configuration, i would have told whether you can install XP or Not. Since its a laptop and just 5 years old i guess you can install XP on that.
No unfortunately. You will have to purchase an XP retail CD or call Averatec for a replacement disk. It is illegal to post Windows install disks for free download. Sorry. Maybe there is someone you know that has the same version on XP you do and you could reinstall from their disks and use your license # for activation. Unfortunately the drivers for your machine will not be on their CD and you will have to go to the Averatec support site to get the appropriate drivers for your model computer.
on ccleaner use the until to setup the startup and get rid of somestuff.. also you could use another 512mb of ram.. its pretty cheap now.. check out newegg.com or crucial.com . once a year i back up everything on my computer and Format my OS harddrive and reinstall windows . There is nothing better then a fresh install of windows. that will for sure speed things up until you bogg it down with programs again.. but at least you can start over. good luck , hope this has helped.
