Question about Google Chrome

Uninstalled google chrome and now yahoo messenger icons dont work

I didn't like google chrome -- uninstalled it -- in vista --> "Computer" --> "Add/Remove" --> Select "Google Chrome" icon and click Uninstall.

Program uninstalls, but when i click on the "envelope" icon on my Yahoo Messenger, the icon is not executable. I get an error message: http://login.yahoo.com/config/reset_cookies_token?.token=Q40YRL7rwq8taRj19fBIUOG8NkFI...

"Application not found"

The only option is to close out the error box.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Or how to uninstall Google Chrome w/o it affecting other things? G-Chrome was too aggressive and made itself the default window/browser for icons such as the "mail" envelope in the yahoo messenger menu.

Thanks to srinivasjr for fixing the problems associated with uninstalling Google Chrome and it's effects on Yahoo Messenger and Default links. You have fixed what Google failed to respond to and what Yahoo wouldn't. I can't thank you enough.

I want to get 3 ask toolbars off of my google chrome browser window

  • Anonymous Mar 24, 2014

I would like a current solution: When a click for a new blank tab, I'd like the large Google Search engine (NOT google chrome, please!) to be displayed; you know, the page where above the search typing area there's, daily, a spread of new art, resembling a huge icon? Please? Thank you!

1) For XP, just go to Control Panel> Add or Remove Programs

2) then select Set Program Access and Defaults at the left part of the Add or Remove programs screen

3) Choose Custom configuration then choose ur Default Web Browser

and voila!... i had the same problem after uninstalling Google Chrome and I found this webpage (good thing I did!). but since I am using XP, I couldn't relate to the "Set Associations" thingy.. I searched Control Panel and got this solution.

I hope this helps.

Thanks to srinivasjr for the idea :D

SOURCE: i didn't like google chrome

I've never used Google Chrome but believe if you uninstall Yahoo Messenger. Then re-download and reinstall it(Yahoo Messenger) that it should remedy your problem since Google Chrome is now removed.

Uninstall Google Chrome from Mac To uninstall Google Chrome completely, make sure you are logged in with administrator rights if Google Chrome is in the Applications folder. Go to the folder containing the web browser and drag it to the Trash icon on the Dock. Drag the Google Chrome icon out of the Dock to remove it as well.

When i signin to yahoo messenger i get a mail notification and when i click on it, it says ' window cannot find - http:/ login.yahoo.com/config/reset/ and bla bla.

Hi Ragaikaras,

Try reinstalling Google chrome to the latest version and try Logging in with Yahoo again.
if the problem persists, try updating your PC to the latest updates and reinstall google chrome once again.

try logging with another browser ( eg. Opera Browser, Internet Explorer, Mozilla firefox ) if the other browsers do not work then try using the Yahoo Messenger and try accessing your email from there.
i hope this helps, good luck!

Chrome is not shiney and won't uninstall or install

You can remove Google Chrome like any other Windows program. Follow these steps: Click the Start menu on your computer taskbar.
Select All Programs.
Select Google Chrome.
Select Uninstall Google Chrome.
Click the Yes button in the confirmation dialog box.

The uninstall process will begin and all your Google Chrome browser and application shortcuts will also be removed.
Alternatively, you can double-click Add or Remove programs in Window XP's Control Panel or Programs and Features in Windows Vista, select Google Chrome in the list, and click the Remove button.

Google Chrome leaves behind your profile information in case you wish to reinstall in the future. To delete this information, go to \Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome in Windows XP or \Documents and Settings\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome in Windows Vista.
