My router is working, butthe connection fails. The only way to run the belkin adapter is to shut down Windows and restart - otherwise the program won't run.

I had the same exact problem. not only is the adapter itself garbage, but the software and driver is garbage. i had to completely remove all traces of the driver/software from my computer, restart, hook up the ethernet cable and go to the belkin site to download the updated driver/software for my version of the adapter(very important to get the correct ones). i downloaded them and ran that set up. DO NOT use the software on the disc!!! it has the wrong driver file and will conflict with the right one you download. after i did all this, the adapter worked, but kept a weak signal. and you need to make sure you have the right network key that is set up on your router config. any questions - fgb_73@yahoo.com

1.Visit: www.belkin.com/support
2. On the top right corner, there will be a search by keyword, a small rectangular blue box
3. In that, type in: F5D7050 and press enter
4. It will give you search results, select the result that says "Drivers".
5. Select the appropriate version for your model. Belkin has 5 versions for the same model. Check for FCC no. on your device. There would be a table on that web page.
6. Verify, download and install

Some network adapters have problems with wireless encryption, try turning it off at the router and connect again. If it works, you wont be able to use that usb adapter with your routers encryption on.

REPLACED F5D7050 WITH F6D4050, NOW LIMITED CONNECTIVITY

You need to make sure the new belkin adaptor has the same settings as the router you are using. If you set a password on your router then you need to set a password the same on your new adaptor.

I have my wireless adapter connected and it shows my required network in the list, but I am not able to connect to it

I had trouble with linksys router and modem, it saw connection but would not connect. I found that my network adapter (drivers) were not installed. Make sure you check that the drivers are installed. If it looks like it, then uninstall then re-install again.

Hope it helps.

I lose wireless connection

Fair enough you may have a 100% signal from your router but perhaps the router is not getting any feed from the exchange, have you tried plugging your LAN cable into the router to see if you can connect to the net ? if you can then i suggest you call your ISP
