Screen doesn't display when car is running

Hope this is an easy dvd player works when plugged into the wall, with the battery, in the car when the battery is just on, BUT when the engine is running the screen goes black - this doesn't happen any other time, but in the car. The audio still works, but the screen goes black - if I close the lid and open it again it will come on for a second and then go off....Am I doing something wrong? Everything is plugged into the right place. Thanks for any help.

Re: Screen doesn't display when car is running

I have noticed with other devices in the car plugged up to a cigarette lighter, it will work while the car is running and once it is turned off, but once the car is started again, I lose power. Evidentally this is an issue with car electrical systems either resetting or surging so it isn't anything wrong with your dvd player. It would be best if you could unplug the player and let it run on battery just before the car is started and then plug it back it once the car is running. I hope this helps.

Could it be a blown fuse in my brand new car the reason power outlets are non operational

the outlet may only be active when the key is the Acc or run position.

Suggest that you try DVD on another car it is possible the 12 volt DC operation in the new DVD is not working but the power cord does.

It is easy to pop the fuse when inserting the adapter. When you find and replace the fuse buy a spare.

Car manual will show fuse location. It is likely a 15 amp.

hope this helped?

I have a durabrand portable dvd player and I can not get the battery to recharge. I have unplugged it from the DC in jack and the cord from the wall. Reinserted the battery, then inserted the AC adaptor...

If your portable DVD player work with the AC power adapter in the wall outlet.100% the litium battery doesn't take any more holding charges. The litium battery should last u about 2 years with minium usages 2-3 hours a day.But that the DVD player and the litium battery must keep in very well conditon and wheather wise. Not in the heat or cold and the humitnity well shorten the lituim battey life very quickly and also could damages the portable DVD player too dosen't matter how much u used it.Tries webites like,, to buy a new litium battery or a compatible one.

Hi, yes it should. Have the AC adaptor tested for DC out, you might need to replace it. Most of these prtable units have a rechargeable battery pack, you might want to have it checked out also, because it might be interfering with the AC option as well.

Battery back needs to be connected to the DVD player when charging. connect the batter pack to player. Run the DC/out from the battery pack to the DC/in in the player. plug the charger into the wall.

if that does not work, you have a bad battery

Battery charge

the battery is dead. that happened to me and i had 3 choices: 1)buy a new dvd player 2)buy a new recharable battery or 3)keep the portable plugged to the wall while i watch movies. i chose number 3 because i usually just use it at places plugs are available. but yeah, the battery is dead.
