I bought a Samsung LCD TV about 12 months ago, had a satellite installed and used the TVs Auto Search feature - it found all my channels for me and this included the local free stations (ch.2, SBS, ch.7, ch.9, ch.10). My son came over on the weekend and was messing with it now I cannot find these channels - i did the auto search again and now it can't find any channels either? would you happen to know how to fix this problem so I can get the local channels back

Did you retry a working TV again on the same input, as it looks like a case of loose contacts in the RC Jack, cable or connectors or some strands of the cable touching the ground. Then check whether your Vizio TV supports the system/format of the cable. If your cable is licensed to be used only with the other TVs, like sensing the identity of the PC used, it could also be a problem
The first thing you should do, is connect the Samsung TV to one of the working aerial inputs upstairs, and then run the auto-setup / digital channel scan. If it works, it's most likely a localised problem with the aerial cable - or you accidentally selected a different external input.
Try this simple test first and then post back with the results. I will then try to assist you further.
you must run "auto program search"/"auto store" again and let the TV find the programs. then put them in order and store. If you feel some channels are missing, try to find them manually. The auto store function sometimes skips programmes with less tolerant range, even if they are watchable in a fairly good quality. And search slowly and pay attention and go back if you feel you just skipped something. Good luck and lots of patience! A new aerial sometimes might mean loss of some channels.
Find out if Australia uses a different standard of HD programming than Guernsey or not since it's not picking up any channels at all with an attenna. Does the skybox use only scart connections and that's how your small lcd is connected to it?
If you cannot receive all channels it may be a fault with the antenna or the tuner may be faulty. If you have a VCR, you can tune that into the TV first and then tune the VCR to see if you then receive all channels. If so, use the VCR position on the TV to view and select or change channels on the VCR only. Good Luck,JUS004
Most TV's auto search feature will try both the Cable and the Air
frequencies, but perhaps yours doesn't. Go to the menu page for
tuner setup and make sure it is set on Air (might be called broadcast)
and then run the channel search.
Cable channels and Broadcast channels (above channel 12) are not the same frequencies.
Hope Ya Fix It!
