To setup AOL/AIM as an IMAP account on your DROID X: To setup AOL or AIM on your DROID X once you have already set-up your handset, follow directions below. If you are adding the account during your handset's initial startup, skip down to Set-up account menu (Instruction #3).

You will be at theSet-Up accountsmenu with several other social network icons.
Enter your full AOL/AIM email address, including "@aol.com" or "@aim.com" domain name in all lower case.
Enter AOL/AIM password.
LeaveAutomatically configure accountchecked.
Tap onNext. Handset will connect to your email server and state "Success!" if account was set-up correctly.
Tap the "Mail" app on your iPad's home screen, tap "Other" and tap "Mail Account." If you already have an email account set up, tap the "Settings" icon on the home screen, tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" in the sidebar and tap "Add Account."
Type your name into the "Name" box using the onscreen keyboard. You can enter any name you want; your iPad sends this name with each email you send.
Type your full AOL email address in the form "Name@aol.com" into the "Address" box. If you have an AOL email address with a different domain, such as "@games.com" or "@love.com," use that domain instead.
Enter your AOL email password into the "Password" box.
Type a description for your email account into the "Description" box and tap "Next."
Tap "IMAP" at the top of the New Account pane.
Type "Imap.aol.com" into the "Host Name" box under "Incoming Mail Server."

It's another account, but with a completely different company. You're allowed to have more than one email address, with more than one company. Mail sent to your AOL account is separate from mail sent to your GMail account.
You can not use your AOL screen name & password on Facebook, you have to register with a different one of each. Also please don't post your email address anywhere on Facebook, you will get all kinds of nuts emailing you!

assist Yahoo mail customers with this problem, AOL will transfer all of
your contact information and future emails from your Yahoo account to
your new AOL account for the next 30 days for free. (Until Yahoo can
correct the problem). You won't miss any emails from your Yahoo account.. They will be automatically forwarded to your new AOL account.
During the set up process you will be asked to provide a security
question. Later, you'll need to answer the security question to set up
the transfer, so don't forget the answer.
3) Once your new AOL account is set up, go to your AOL email page. Look in the upper right hand top corner for the word, SETTINGS and click on it.
4) (Next page) On the left hand side, look for the word, Accounts and click on it.
5) (Next Page) Look on the line beginning with, Transfer Accounts and locate the link that reads, AOL Easy Transfer and click on it.
6) (Next Page) Agree to the terms of service and click on, Get Started.
7) (Next Page) Under Copy from, enter your Yahoo email address and password.
8) Under Copy to, enter your new AOL email address and password.
9) (Next Page) Carefully Read, and select the options you need. (Click, Continue)
10) (Next Page) Click, Go to AOL Mail.
(Next Page) Enter the answer to your security question you created when
you set up your new AOL email account. (Click, Continue)
12) (Next Page) Look at the top Left hand corner and click on, MAIL.
