Have had this problem also with generators usually tell people to shut fuel tap when not used or transporting.the engine seems to create a siphon and fills the sump.drain refill with oil start again it may never happen again.

Hi from the uk you do not say typemodel/ year of vehicle ? however! from your symptoms of having petrol entering the oil sump resulting in rise in sump level ? not to mention dilution of lubricant ? if your fuel pump is mechanical type ie is operated by the camshaft and is bolted to engine ? as was method used b4 electric pumps now ? then i would suspect the diagphram inside the pump is porouse with age and is now leaking fuel through resulting in entering the sump via the pump bolting to engine wher the operating arm enteres ? thi would be more likely than worne pistons/rings may i suggest you do not run engine untill fault is rectified as fuel/oil mix will damage major components or even seizure? due to lack of correct lubrication

Have a ohv130 206809a that is blowing oil through breather into carb. bad carb?

bad engine , overfull sump, bad pcv valve
carbys just mix air and fuel in a ratio and have nothing to do with oil
oil come from the sump as oil or oil vapor which is entered through the carby to burn and not pollute

Why will my generator not start

probably no spark
check that the ignition switch is on
check for fuel in the carby
check for oil in the sump as there is a low oil cut out switch that causes problems even if the sump is full

Husqvarna 266se everything is brand new piston, rings cylinder carb coil muffler and it still won't start even checked the timing it is set right

did you replace the worn out seals on the crank shaft?
if not then the compression made when the piston comes down into the sump to push the mixture up in to the cylinder is lost and there is no air to compress for the next power stroke
when the piston goes back up , the low pressure in the sump sucks air past the worn seals and not an air/fuel mix
probably the reason that you thought that you had to replace the rings and piston in the first place

I am losing power going up hills and smoke comes out in front of mower

check for excessive oil in the sump (carby needle and seat allowing fuel to drain into the sump past the rings when standing for a period of time )
what you describe is indicative of excess oil and the oil ring cannot handle the oil control
this in turn affects the air/fuel mixture and makes it hard for the engine to run

Once engine has started smoke coming out

Smoke coming from exhaust is sign of a few things wrong. Either the petrol -air mix is not correct and rich fuel mix is going in. Worse oil seal leak. This means engine oil from sump is finding its way into engine cylinders and igniting with petrol. A sign that engine could be damaged soon. This needs to be addressed quickly - piston rings may be loose also.

Without knowing vehicle make or model it is hard to suggest anything further.

What to do when there no psi on cyl 4 to get the psi up agan"?"

There are at least three possible reasons for no psi in cyl No 4.
1. Burnt or damaged exhaust valve in that cylinder
FIX Remove head and replace faulty valve
2. Blown head gasket (water mixed with sump oil shows milky on dipstick and steam or water coming out of exhaust tailpipe, radiator water disappears )
FIX Remove head, grind flat and assemble with new gasket.
3. Broken piston rings, or cracked piston or burnt hole in piston.
FIX replace faulty parts.
Squirt some sump oil ( 2 or 3 spoonfuls ) through spark plug hole,
spin motor , and if compression PSI improves then it is rings or piston, if no PSI then it is faulty ex valve !!!

80 suzuki dirt bike giving the gas it bogs down cant figure this one out

There is many options to cause this, spark plug failing, dirty carbi, but the most common cause for this would be fuel mix itself (what fuel ratio are you using?) Try decreasing the oil in your fuel mix slightly see if this improves then move to carbi inspection / full clean and new spark plug

15.5 Craftsman riding lawnmower blowing oil/fuel mis out the breather tube/smoking-does this indicate head gadket/valve or piston/ring problem. Need repair manual- any ideas?

Hi, drain and change the oil as it has become contaminated with fuel. This is caused by your carby flooding while stored. Check and clean the needle and float in the carby and make sure it stops fuel flow when you hold the float parallel to the carby body. You can also fit an inline fuel tap to prevent this happening again. Hope this helps, regards Phil.

Getting petrol into sump oil[carb engine]

If fuel is mixing with your oil, the piston rings are most likely shot and one of your cylinders is likely not firing. The theory of the rings being worn is especially true if you have a blueish colored exhaust smoke.

Petrol is mixing with the gearbox oil

The pistons rings are worn out which is allowing the petrol to mix ,you must change the piston and piston rings in your bike...
