Question about Lexmark JetPrinter X1185 All-In-One InkJet

Not printing My all in one x1185 is no longer printing. The on button keeps flashing on and off and the printing goes into a que then states there is an error but when I try to cancel the print job is doesn't and I need to restart my computer and let my one care virus scan clear the print que for me.

It insists there is a Cartridge problem on the Printer............  In this Case take out the Paper from the Paper Feed Tray........ Unplug the Power Supply from the Printer.......... Remove both the Cartridges from the Printer.......... Now take a size 10 Envelope fold it so that it should become like a thin long strip........ Now Insert that Envelope on the left side corner of the Printer and move it from right to left and left to right as fast as u can for about 10 times.......... Now Insert the Ordinary Papers onto the Printer and insert both the catridges and Turn on the Printer...... Blinking Stopped...........Issue Resolved....... Still Blinking: Remove both the Cartridges take a Paper Towel turn the catridges direction so that u can see a Copper plate with small boxes on it....... Just wipe it twice or thrice with the Paper Towel.......... Now insert it and Power on the Printer and see whether the Lights are still blinking if it is still blinking...... HP 1300 LASER JET PRINTER KEEP REPEAT PRINTING


It sounds like you have unprinted documents in your print que that need to be cleaned out. click on the arrow on the bottom right side of your screen next to your clock in order to view it. find the picture of the printer and right click with the button on the right side of your mouse on top of it. Open the print que and choose all printers. If you see documents in this area, click on them one by one and delete them. After they are all gone, close the print que and try printing something. this should solve your issue.

Lexmark X1185 (print trio) does not scan or copy since upgrading to Vista


Hello Barbhinkins,
Please find the vista driver for this printer at this link. Follow the instructions to install properly.

Hopefully this file will also have driver for scanner.

Hi there
You can try see if this may do it.

Go to Start / Run and type in "services.msc" without quotation marks, then press Enter or click OK.

In the window that opens (Services) look for "Print Spooler" on the right

Right-click "Print Spooler" and select "Properties".

Click on the "Recovery" tab and change all 3 drop-down boxes to "Restart The Service".

Make sure the 2 text boxes underneath say "1" in them.

Click Ok until you are back at the Services window, close it and you're good to go.

Go back into the properties of the "Print Spooler" tab and be sure to click Start to restart the Print Spooler service and it will restart the service immediately.

The Print spooler depends on the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service. Is this service disabled? Go to services.msc look for RPC. Check state: Automatic

Cannot delete document from que


After you delete all print jobs, hold down the window key and hit 'R', then enter "services.msc" and hit enter. When the services console comes up, find "Print Spooler" and right click on it. Then click stop. Wait 15 seconds or so and right click/start the service again. If all goes well, the print jobs will be deleted. Good luck.

Installation w/ Lexmark X1185....strange.....vista


I had that happen too, look on the taskbar for the printer icon (not the Lexmark icon). It's usually only there when printing a document and looks like a printer. If there, double click to open and make sure there are no jobs in the que. If any are listed, delete them from the file menu. See if that helps, that was my problem. Good luck !!

it does not take much to dirty up a printer even a little dust, try blowing a can of air, if that doesnt work the printer perferences might have changed either you have to thick of paper or not thick enoughtacording to your printing preferences or the page set up next time you go to print check the page setup

Lexmark x1185 cartridge error msg


Step 1). Try cleaning the gold contacts on the print cartridge and on the printer itself with a pen eraser and a little alcohol.

Step 2). Uninstall the printer software and reinstall it.

Step 3). If the above two steps fail try a new cartridge. If none of these solutions work there is an electronic problem with the printer and it will have to be professionally diagnosed or replaced.

Print wont print


You have the paper inserted wrong in the printer. The paper should be inserted behind the feeder wheel that is on the right side of the feeder shoot

Lexmark X1185 won't scan.


I believe you have to push the scan button in order for it to scan and save. The copy buttons will only print either a black copy or a color copy.
