Try to check the connection in the router if you have any... check if your laptop recognizes the router, if you don't have a router unplug your internet connection, reboot your laptop and try to connect again.

1- Try setting your own DNS server settings, right click on your network connection > properties > TCPIP v4 > edit DNS settings ( use dyndns.com as a dns for example).
2- Try refreshing your DNS cache:
start > run > cmd > and type: ipconfig /flushdns
