Batter problem? Hi the battery is fully charged, but when I turn the camera on, it stays on for a few seconds, and then automatically shuts off. Do you have any idea what I can do?

    Thanks for the welcome!

Yea I have had this camera ever since it was released, so maybe it is time for a new battery. I do think I might've overcharged it to much. On top of that, I just came back from my vacation in Asia, so i think maybe the converter might play a role in it as well.

I'll go ahead and see if I can find a deal on a battery and update u guys. thanks a lot!

I hate to tell you this, but you may have charged the battery so much that it doesn't hold a charge anymore.

You should either try to get a new battery for it or maybe make sure you have the right kind of battery installed.

Good Luck!

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Depending on the length of service, it may be time to replace the rechargeable batteries. It is possible that the batteries wold accept the charge but thereafter not able to retain it, hence your described condition.

In some instances of removable batteries, it may be necessary to clean/scrape the battery contacts of the camera. They tend to have corrosion after some time and it would help to expose fresh metal. Additionally, you could also try to bend/stretch these contacts so as to exert more pressure on the battery terminals.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

Why does my tom tom keep going the shut down page every 10 seconds I have pressed reset but makes no difference I ride bmw r1200rt

One possible cause is that your battery is low or the battery can no longer hold a (good) charge. In this case, the TomTom is shutting down because there's not enough battery to keep it running, even though it is plugged into a power source.

To determine if the battery is the cause, try to charge the TomTom battery .... using a (USB) connection to your computer, or a direct power source (i.e. while the TomTom is not being used). Let it charge for a few hours until the batter charge indicator shows that it is fully charged (or just leave it charging overnight).
Then, unplug the TomTom from the "charger" and power it up. If the TomTom (battery) doesn't hold a (good) charge, the device will shut down within a few minutes, e.g. 10 mins or much less.
When you (then) plug the device into a power source, and it doesn't stay on (i.e. it keeps shutting down after 10 seconds), you can safely conclude that the battery is the cause of your problem.

Model PL81. Why does it zoom, beep, and shut down?

Are you positive that the battery is good? Turning on for a few seconds and then shutting down is a classic symptom of a battery that did not take a proper charge and as soon as the surface charge is used, unit will shut down. And what if your charger is not properly charging the battery?

If you have a battery eliminator try that in lieu of the battery to see what happens.

The camera comes on when the powere button is

Usually this is a sign that the battery is weak or not charged enough.
Make sure you have either a new battery or the battery is fully charged, then test the camera again.
This camera takes a Sony NP-BK1 Li-ion rechargeable battery (or compatible).
If the battery is good and is fully charged, then there is a problem in the camera, and needs repair or sell it as parts or as is (if repair cost is too much) on a site such as Ebay.

When I turn my camera on it stays on for a few seconds and then shuts itself off. I even put brand new batteries in it and it does the same thing

1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher). 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera 3. Turn on your camera without the memory card. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty)

Loosing power randomly

how old are the batteries and how many times they were charged without being fully drained can cause a short life for the battery. Try a new battery-fully charging it properly, but dont charge it again till it goes off by itself completely. If you have a wall charger, plug your phone in. If it stays on that way, check your 'power save' settings. That can also make your camera shut off. Try these steps first and see if it changes the 'battery' from being empty to full and stays on. hope this helps

Olympus Stylus 730 shuts off after few seconds. Battery is fully charged, tried a resetting: no change.

To save battery power, the camera automatically goes into sleep mode and the monitor turns off if there is no operation when the camera is turned on (when the lens cover opens and the monitor is on). No picture is taken even if the shutter button is fully pressed in this mode.
Operate the zoom lever or other buttons to restore the camera from sleep mode before taking a picture. If the camera is left for 15 minutes, it automatically turns off (the lens cover closes and the monitor turns off). Press POWER to turn the camera on.

It wont stay on

Hi Kimberley,
Looking at your brief description of the problem a possible fault may lie with power supply and or battery.
Have you access to another Armada power supply? if not does the light go green when Pc is turned off and fully charged.
I would be looking in these area's for the problem.
Good Luck,
