Question about Toshiba Tecra M4 Notebook
A brought this second hand on a garage sale , without tryng it , and when i arrieved home she ask me for the bios password , and i dont know what to do , i search in the internet already , but nobody knows nothing , the laptop doesnt let me do anything , the screen is black and she only asks for the password , i already take the cmoss battery out and short it to , but it keeps asking me for the password
The password may be saved in flash memory that needs no battery to retain it.
There is surely a 'cheat' to reset the password but I suspect the method is not real public since it could be used to reset a stolen unit too. You might check for a retail outlet that sells Toshiba and call them to see if they can do this for you. Most service techs will want to see some proof of ownership before accepting it for resetting.
