Question about Psion Series 5
Only suggestion here is to try a cold reset. Make sure you have an up-to-date backup. Take all the batteries out and leave for a couple of hours. Re-install batteries and check the Psion. If all looks good, do a restore. If things look bad again, your system was corrupted so reset again but do not do a restore. You will then have to trial-and-error reloading parts of the backup.
I would suggest re-installing any third party software from scratch.
