How many rubber washers should my feeder spring have

The rn46 nailer has two retaining rings for the feeder. The snap ring on the very back of the feeder assembly is removed with snap ring pliers or two small pointed tools of your choice. The rear cap will come off with spring pressure so be ready to catch the pieces. You need to remove the nail canister to see the rear snap ring. The feeder pin holding the feeder onto the feeder shaft is just a rubber ring that can be removed by prying behind with flat blade screwdriver. Caution when you remove the feed-pin and move the feeder or you will lose the feed-sping under the feeder , Good luck

The feeder piston should be very hard to retract by hand and should move back and forth as quickly as driver piston moves. With nails removed and side door open, activate gun on rubber surface (old coiled up air hose or water hose ) and make sure driver and feeder move quickly. If not check for debris within feed piston or air passage to feedpiston. The spring straddles the feeder with the slightly bent part of the spring arms contacting the upper surface of the feeder (little grooves cut into feeder). When installed correctly, the tip of the spring arms will be pointing upwards and the back part of the spring between the two loops will be contacting the feeder shaft. Good luck.

You can use an oring in place of the feed spring until you get the factory spring. If no supply for orings, use several of the rubber bands that come on the coil nails. Remove the broken spring and streach oring between one side of the retainer pin and the other. If the oring is snugg enough, it will have same spring action on the feeder as torsion spring. Have several torsion springs in stock for future use. Also check the condition of the retainer pin. If the pin shows signs of wear, replace it because a loose pin will allow the feeder to move around too much.

Check the pin and spring on the feeder. They are known for having the rubber washer fall off then the pin falls out. Also is the spring is bad or missing it won't feed.

If the nail will not advance, easy test will determine problem. Open door and remove the nails. Lightly tap the nose of the gun against coiled rubber hose or soft wood with door open. If the driver falls to bottom, the piston oring needs to be replaced. The driver should stay at top of cylinder. Next pull back the feeder to rear position and check for tension. The feeder should spring back towards you when you push. Finally, the check paws on the door should return to extended positon when you push on them. Replace springs as needed. Connect air to gun and rapidly bump fire the gun against rubber. The feeder should move back and forward just as quickly as the driver moves. Good luck

The feeder will dislodge if the feed paw spring is weak or missing. Replace with new spring to keep the feeder paw in place. Visual test with good feed spring. Remove nails and open side door. Fire gun rapidly against hard rubber or coiled air hose. The feeder should move back and fourth in time with the piston/driver. If the feeder seems to move in slow motion compared to the driver, check feeder piston orings and feeder piston spring. If both feeder piston orings and spring are in good condition, then check air passage to feeder piston chamber for obstruction. Sometimes debris will lodge in white oring where body mates to nose of gun. Good luck

Skipping could be caused by various issues including, worn piston oring, cracked lower bumper, weak or missing feed spring, weak or broken spring behind feed piston, or weak/ missing check spring on door. Easy tests. Open door and remove nails, point gun up then down again to check for loose piston. If piston moves up and down, replace oring and examine lower bumper for missing pieces. Piston should stay at the top of cylinder. Make sure that there is spring tension on feeder and on check feeder on the door. Dry fire the gun rapidly against rubber pad or coiled rubber hose. With door open notice that feeder is moving back and fourth just as rapidly as the driver/piston is moving. If it appears to move slower than piston moves or in slow motion, replace feedpiston spring and oring. If feeder moves just as rapid as driver, remove air hose and push feeder back by hand. It should take a great deal of pressure to move feeder all the way back. If spring feels very strong replace oring to feed piston and make sure that the air pathway to feed piston is clear. Here are a few tests for you to try. You will need a piece of rubber or coiled up old hose.
First open side door and remove nails. Tilt gun head down then up again to check if piston is loose in the cylinder. The piston should stay in top position. If piston drops to bottom of cylinder replace piston oring or apply some coils of teflon tape under oring to expand oring slightly untill piston stays at top but still can be pushed down cylinder. If piston stays at top connect air to gun and with side door open contact gun to rubber firing gun noticing the feeder movement. With very rapid firing of the gun, the feeder should move back and fourth just as fast as the driver moves. If the feeder seems to move slower than the driver moves then check/replace spring in feeder. If spring seems strong enough in your opinion then problem is restriction in the air supply to feeder. You will need to remove the two 6m allen screws at front of gun and split gun apart to check restriction at the oring sealing these two parts. Sometimes debris traped at oring (white oring) will restrict air to feeder. Good luck.

Jast open paper feeder tray. To open the paper feeder you need to open 6 scrue. there ware a roller in the left corner in the feeder whice is made by rubber of plastic( White or gray) . Push both end of the roller. When it will open, there ware spring inside the hole of the roller. Put off it. and reassenble the parts with out spring. If you apply it carefully, I thing you will be relive from your problem. Thank you

This is a very popular gun, very light and powerful. Skipping nails is not a common problem. Here are a few things to check that would cause the issue. (First remove air hose and nails.) Worn piston oring (piston will be in the down position). Open side door and check that piston is at top. If oring ok, check feed spring under feeder claw. If spring is in place, push feeder in manually. It should be very difficult to move feeder shaft. If it moves easily then spring inside feeder chamber is broken. If ok, connect air to gun, leaving side door open (nails removed) and bump fire gun against hard rubber (or coiled rubber hose ) very rapidly. While bump firing rapidly, look at feeder moving back and forward. It should be moving very quickly keeping up with speed of driver. If it appears to be moving slowly compared to driver there is an air feed restriction to feeder chamber. Check for debris in small air passage to chamber. Remove two allen screws holding nose of gun to body and examine the small white teflon oring between nose and body(part #149885). Sometimes this oring traps dirt and grime or just simply gets pressed so tightly that center hole is restricted. You must use the correct teflon oring here because the nose and body fit so tightly together that a rubber oring will close air path. Good luck.
