I just get the cursor on the screen. Are there specific steps to correct this problem. I have limited computer knowledge.
You could try boot of usb pen using puppy linux or dam small linux
recover pics docs ect then just reinstall eny operating system you what.
ie ubuntu linux (free) /or keep runing dam small or puppy(free) /win 7/win8
(pay)or Xandros if thats whats installed using youre licenced key on the bottom of your netbook(FREE).

Unfortunately Xandros is a paid (yes, you have read correctly , PAID) Linux distro. You will have to pay to get a Live-USB to reinstall.

and follow the instructions to create your own PCLinuxOS (the one i use) Live-USB. You will need another pc for that. After booting from it all you're gonna have to do is to click on the Install icon on the desktop.

You need to connect an external DVD & insert your dvd disc, that came with your unit, set it up in BIOS to "Boot from DVD" and restart the PC, when it Boots off the DVD simply follow the instructions to completely reinstall your Operating System.

Get Rid of Webroot. Scan computer for Viruses.
Virus normally corrupts your computer.
Go to www.trendmicro.com, and do the free scan Trend Micro's House Call virus, spyware and malware scanner and cleaner. http://housecall.trendmicro.com

You can't set it in the CMOS Settings?Try setting if first then exit and saved..then enter again to CMOS and see it still unchanged.Try another battery.

I have an Asus Eee pc 2g surf. I inadvertently installed a bios 2008 upgrade and cannot provide a password and cannot get beyond this page. Assus techs cannot provide it without an invoice and I have none as it was a gift. Any solution? I have taken out the battery, pressed f2, shift f10 ( which gets me to a screen "Atheos Boot Agent Configuration Agent" but not sure how this will help)
