Have you gone into the menu and located Closed Caption or just caption and turned it off? It might be under the Audio menu or Features.

How can I get rid of subtile from my tv

You probably are seeing closed captioning (CC) rather that subtitles. If so, your TV's internal speakers have been turned off perhaps while you were doing setup. If the internal TV speakers are turned back on, the captions should go away

There is a rectangle shaped box at the bottom of my screen. I thought it could be because I hit the pip button on the remote, but when I hit the pip button it only goes away for a second and then comes...

Make sure your closed-captioning is turned off. You probably have captions set for "text" mode now. It's easy to do this because on most remote controls there is a single button for caption settings, and you can hit the button without realizing it. Once you turn off the captions the box should be gone.

Letters appearing on screen

Turn off captions (if not on the TV, on your cable or satellite receiver), because that's what's going on. TV or whatever tunes it are most likely providing bad or corrupted caption data, and that's an attempt to decode it. Turning off captions should eliminate the issue (unless you need captions, in which case you should try to improve the quality of the signal into your TV, which is beyond the scope of this particular question).

I have a Emerson (LC3203MC) "32 flat screen tv and on certain channels the closed caption in on, even with the captiions off, it still come up. How do I get rid of this?

If you have this TV connected to a cable box or satellite receiver, the captions may be coming from there. Some of these devices support captioning on their own, separate from the TV. Check the device setup to be sure captions are turned off.

I can't get rid of the captions on the 50 inch LG TV

My Lg was doing the same thing. Every movie we watched had subtitles running at the bottom of the screen. The button was at the bottom of the remote. Once we pressed it, it came up on the screen saying CC/OFF. Also had this happen on same TV with DVD player and had to turn it off with the DVD remote. Subtitles OFF/ON

Closed captions will not disappear

Some TV will not display close caption in HD mode. This is why its Grey out in HD mode. If you switch to regular input, i can bet you your close caption will not be Grey out. The problem you are having is your cable box has close caption enable. You must go into the cable box menu and turn caption off. In some box you may have to call your cable provide for assistant.

How to get rid of a black screen on my tv. sound is ok

If you mean that you get a black box, with a little of the picture visible around the edges, then your closed captions are on and set to TEXT. This puts a black box on the screen about 10 seconds after changing the channel. Go into the menu and turn off the closed captions and the picture will be back to normal.
