Listening to radio and it just went off, standby light not on, completely dead, changed the fuse in the plug, that wasnt the problem - help

since you have change the fuse in plug, this indicate that your plug is okay, the likely problem is from the television which will require you to open the television to check for fuses, bulged capacitors, but if otherwise your power supply is dead.It can be dead at anytimes.Tries websites Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Where is there a Fuse in this unit? I am having the same problem with mine.

This could be your Power Supply Module or your Main board. I suggest taking it in for a diagnostic check.

Be sure you checked all 3 fuses, F3 5amp, F9 7.5amp. F12 15amp. Test with test light the red and black wire in start, the dark blue and light green in accesory, and the violet hot at all times. These are all in the harness to the radio. Then test grounds by clamping the test light to battery positive, and check the black wire and the two black and light greens. If both units are good, there's gotta be a bad power or ground.

There's a line fuse for these sets inside the radio on a printed circuit board. NOTE: for your safety, disconnect the radio from its power source before you open the case and poke around inside. The best way to check the fuse is with an ohm meter, but you can probably check it visually using a strong flashlight. There should be a wire filament running the length of the fuse. If it's intact, so is the fuse. If it's broken or not visible at all, the fuse is "blown" and needs to be replaced. If the fuse checks out ok, the power transformer is likely bad -- a problem that these sets are notorious for. Bose will charge you $100 for the transformer repair (unless the set is still under warranty), and having it done is strictly a matter of personal choice. My choice would be to sell the Bose on eBay as a "tech special" and pick up one of the newer HD radios. They offer much better sound at a much lower price.

have you checked the fuse box for blown fuses hope this helps regards Jim

its a 15 watt fuse in the kick panel under the dash. go to the auto repair store and buy a fuse kit so you can can always have spare fuses on hand. it also has a tester in it. my screen went blank as well and I, like you wasnt able to control the heat or air til I changes this fuse. To prove if the power light comes on with a blown fuse, just take the fuse out and turn it on.

If the light comes on your fuse could be blown. Replace it with the same rating. Let the guys at Radio Shack help out on that.

Fuse type: Radio shack 270-1062 or Equivalent.

Your going to need to pull off the battery cable for about 2 to 5 minutes and see if this will reset the radio. Good Luck
