Question about Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop

My WiFi isn't working on my Ispiron 1525?

I have a brand-new Dell Inspiron 1525, [new as in I received and opened the box about a month ago] but within three weeks a friend downloaded something from frost wire, causing my computer to crash... I cleared out my hard drive using Dell MediaDirect, then ran all of the necessary software and so on to re-install drivers and OS that I needed. Everything [and I mean EVERYTHING] is working fine, except that now, my WiFi is screwed up! When I click on "Connect to a network", instead of the usual secured and unsecured networks showing up [Linksys and such], there is only a dial-up 3G connection available. I've checked, double-checked, restarted, shut down, flipped switches, reinstalled wireless drivers, EVERYTHING I thought I could do... But it still won't work!!! Can ANYONE help me here?!

i'd have to say check the even easier solution on the right side of the laptop there is a slider, slide it towards the monitor past the click and it should open up a window showing all the available networks

Let's check the simple things first then we will go from there. Go into device manager, start>right click on my computer>properties>hardware tab>device drive..find your network adapter, click on the "+" sign and your adapter will show up (hopefully) right click on it and click on download driver. There is also a troubleshooting portion you can click on.. let me know how that goes and we'll continue from there.

I had to reinstall my vista os on my dell inspirion 1525 and now the wifi connection will no go on. I h ave tried turning on and off the toggle switch, the BIOS is set to enabled for wifi, I have tried...

There is a strong chance that the wireless card inside is bad. I work at a computer repair shop and work mainly with laptops. It isn't uncommon for wireless cards to go bad, before their "time". Usually Dell's have access panels on the bottom of the laptop where you can see the wireless card. It will have 2, sometimes 3 small wires plugged into it. Usually dell' use Dell brand cards, which are really repackaged Broadcom wireless cards in most cases. In your situation, write down what the model number is, go to another computer, look up that model on ebay, buy one, replace it.

I have a dell inspiron 1525 laptop, it's not booting.. a blue screen message is also occur.. what to do??

This is a Dell problem. THEY KNOW ABOUT IT AND WILL DO NOTHING. It is only when it runs Vista. It doen't happen with XP. So the spokesperson told me. This happened to me about 3 months ago. I ended up having to go back to factory settings with the brown disc that came in your box. Mine has just done it again. NOT HAPPY AT ALL. Dell spokesperson told me the executives have had meetings on this but has done nothing. Never ever buy a DELL!!!!!!
THis didn't work for me but others have tried - hit F8 when turning on. A repair page will come up. GOOD LUCK!

Dell inspiron 1525 laptop not detecting battery

Looks to me like the battery is bad, try another battery if you can and see if the laptop charges it. If it does then the battery is bad, if it doesn't then its something with the motherboard.

Cooling fan Rattle

It should still be under warranty at 6 months old.
If you attempt to repair yourself, you will void the warranty.
Talk to Dell before you do anything.
