The problem you've described appears to be the DOOR SWITCH (Very likely and very common).

The purpose of the door switch is to prevent injury when the drum is rotating. Thus, if the door is open or the door switch "thinks its' open" (broken), the dryer will not turn on for safety reasons.

Depending on your "handy" skills, the door-switch is pretty simple to replace and costs about $10-$15 or so. I would access the inside of the dryer; observe the metal trip level (not on all models), depress and test the switch for continutity; or replace as necessary.

MY HUSBAND POWER WASHED THE OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE, WATER MAY HAVE RUN INTO THE DRYER VENT. COULD THAT BE THE REASON WHY MY DRYER NO LONGER HEATS UP ENOUGH?

Quite possibly if he filled the vent hose up with water. You may have to scoot the dryer out, disconnect the hose, and try lifting it up enough to drain any water in the hose. Otherwise, while you have it apart, look in to the hose and make sure it isn't plugged up with lint. Tell your husband, that's ok, I would probably have made the same mistake . :) Mark

Wont stay hot

Hello,

This means the gas coils have failed or the dryer vent hose is blocked.

Check the vent hose in the rear of the dryer it's the most common issue.

We just moved and hooked up our dryer and it wont dry our clothes

1ST CHECK POWER OUTLET IF YOU HAVE ELECTRIC DRYER, IT SHOULD HAVE 220V COMING OUT FROM OUT LET. IF POWER IS OK AND HEATING BUT LONG TIME TO DRY THEN CHECK YOU DRYER VENT.
IF YOYR DRYER VENT AND POWER IS OK, THEN IT COULD BE ONE OF THE HI LIMIT OR YOU HAVE BAD HEATING ELEMENT

May tag it heat up but no air is comming of the hose that leads out side

Your vent is propably restricted with lint. Have entire dryer vent system cleaned. Make sure first that the dryer is blowing ok by taking hose off back of dryer. If air comes out dryer without hose attached but no air out vent when hose is attached then the vent hose or duct work in house is clogged.

Clothes get warm but stay wet and do not fully

You need to check the venting. Take the vent hose off the back of the dryer and try drying a load with it off and see if it will fully dry. If so, clean the vent hose.

Dryer wont dry clothes

Vents can fool you sometimes they seem to be ok but still cause problems. Try running with vent unhooked from machine one time and see if it works ok.
Check for leaks air leaks around the door or anywhere else.

HEATING ELEMENT DOES NOT STAY ON. EACH LOAD TAKES TOO LONG TO DRY, (SEVERAL CYCLES).

Ok, check the exhaust hose and blower assembly for clogs. make sure the exhaust vent is free of any debris. it shoudl blow forcfully out the hose. if the exuast hose is clear of any obstruction and, the blower assembly is clear as well, replace the timer/control module.
