The key combination you're referring to probably switched your keyboard layout.
For examply, I use Dvorak to type, but to switch over to regualar QWERTY, my family presses Alt+Shift.
Note, that's because I have it set up that way. Your combination might be different.
Control Panel --> Search "languages" --> Click "Change keyboards or other input methods" --> Click the button that says "Change keyboards"
If you see anything other than plan "US" or "English" under "Installed Services", remove it.
First be sure the batteries are are good and the holder is clean and making contact. On the L. side of the keyboard are 3 keys marked save , play and delete hold the store key enter an address 01-99, release the store key, type info, press store again. To reprint ho;d play and enter the address, release play.
Sounds like the daisy wheel is loose. Wiggle the daisy wheel side to side. there should be little movement. If it is loose, remove it and reinstall it. also, look for foreign objects down in the wheel printhead assembly.
If that doesn't fix it, remove the daisy wheel, unplug machine and let it rest for 20 minutes, or so. . reinstall the wheel and see what happens.
I assume this is a type bar machine. If so first put some light oil (WD40 works well) along the segment where the type bars are swung and type to work the oil in. If this an electric machine be careful not to much oil.
If you have another printwheel try that, if you still have the trouble try blowing out the area where it is in stalled. If that fails turn the machine off then back on, after it completes the POR mark the printwheel with some white out, repeat the POR see if the mark is in the same place, if it isin't you probably have a selection plate problem.
