Hi, your monitor is working just fine, that is the test mode, showing you the three colors. This is the colors needed for the monitor to show all the other colors, with this the monitors have a problem..

Samsung sa850t monitor right half of screen is solid blue

I think your Display monitor cable damage, or may be your motherboard display cheap damage, or your display driver problem create.

First of all you check your display driver or reinstall driver. Sec think used external VGA card or check it. If not solved then your monitor display section damage. So contact good monitor technician.

Soyo monitor MT-NI-DYLM1998 "out of range."

Your windows 7 screen resolution is set too high and your display doesn't support it. There are 3 possible solutions to this problem:
1. Press F8 during startup and choose "Enable row-resolution video"
2. Press F8 during startup and choose "Safe mode" and change screen resolution there, then reboot.
3. You can always use another display (if you have one) to set screen resolution to lower value.

Monitor is only showing vertical/horizontal gray/white screen

Your video card has fried unfortunately. If you are familiar with the internal workings of a PC you can open it up and check the power cells on the video card itself, they will usually show signs of damage such as cracking etc. I would have a qualified professional take a look at it. I would recommend as a starting place for finding a new one

I have a VP201m. display flashes at startup and goes black

That's not monitor problem, it's your CPU, probably the Operating System crash!!!( Windows, etc).
Try reinstall it to solve the problem...

Monitor flashing at startup

When the monitor is flashing, is the flashing coming from the middle and going up and done to fill the screen. If so, probably capacitors in the monitors power supply are leaking and need replacing.

On startup the screen shows ( out of range )

It means your system display card settings are too high for your monitor. Boot your system into safe mode and set the display settings lower. Right mouse button click on an empty space on your desktop and go to properties. Then settings->advanced and you should be able to adjust the vertical frequency down to 60hz or 72hz. If not, then go to the monitor tab and load a generic monitor driver.
One time, I bought a repackaged display card that had been set too high and I had to reload the card driver in safe mode to get it to work correctly.
pls rate my solution
thankyou for using fixya

Black Mark

only sounds as if he has damaged the pixels so much they don't display the colour properly any more, if it is still under warranty get it replaced by Acer, if not take it to an electronics store like pc world and they might be able to fix it for a price.
