-   I have a phillips vcr dvd combo and it won't play dvd+r discs. It says playback may not be available for this disc. I've tried to reformat the movie and use a different burning software but it still says the same thing.-   akhblondie
2 Things 1 You need to Finalize the disc to play of a DVD player check that out with your DVD burn program.
2 Check the DVD players capability with certain discs, not all payers will run 'burned disks' sometimes even the brand of disk matters or whether it is + or- type There are may variables with the DVD firmware. Finalize first the the first step.
I have a Panaonic DMR ES35V and it worked for 7 months; now the DVD-R has disk read error on every disk. Called Panasonic twice in July and again today. They are supposed to get back with me. Still waiting!!! They said it has to be sent in for repairs. Evidently, this is a common problem with Panasonic. The solution for me is NEVER to purchase another Panasonic product ever. I have 3 other panasonic products in my home. For the money I paid for this unit, it was not worth it. Angel, Atlanta, Georgia 8/4/08

i recorded a dvd with my dvd recorder and i was editing
and the recorder says that the dvd is an unknown type
burn your disc with NERO on option. DVD ISO no multi session. add the films you wish to burn to disc.after clicking new Put a dvd-r disc in your computer click burn. thats all there is to it. these should play providing your DVD player is compatible and will play DVD and DIVX DISCS. phillips have just bought a dvd divx player out and it will play anything you put in it. even a flash stick. and they are only £38.00 delivered from amazon.

Her DVD Player is Emerson EWD7004. I have another question; if she cannot change the region on her DVD player can she, in that case, copy the DVDs on her computer that, she has changed to region 1 and then see if it will play on her DVD? Regards Eva

I copied from a VHS a DVD+R on my LG DVD/DVR machine. I made several copies for family members. Now they can't play the dvd on their respective machines. The dvd's were initialized and finalized. Any suggestions. cadi1996@comcast.net
