Question about Kodak ESP 3 Multifunction Printer/ Copier/ Scanner

1 Answer

Colors no good anymore

When I first got my ESP 3, the colors were right on. Now, even with brand new cartridges, the colors aren't even close.

I cleaned the contacts with distilled water and cotton swabs very carefully, but this didn't clear anything up at all.

Any suggestions?

You need a new printhead. They are defective. Call Kodak, they are aware of the issue.

Kodak esp 5210 wont print black

I figured it out. If you are low on (25%) on either colors or black, then it won't print. Even if you load a new black cartridge and it reads as 100% black, it won't print because it will only print when BOTH cartridges have been replaced and reads 100%.
Same thing happens reversed with color being replaced.
So basically, ALL printers short you 25% ink and FORCE you to buy their ink more often. Kodak is no exception.
I have 100% black and 25% color and a BW only needed text paper won't print. I been through this before. *facepalm*

My kodak esp 3 won't doesn't recognize the new black ink we put in

I'm having this same problem with both black and a color cartridge. I see the small scratches, so looks like they are connecting all right. The new cartridges are Kodak brand, so that's not the problem.
I'll try calling them about the print head if that might be the problem.

Just installed new cartridge but blue and red colour is not appearing on calibration sheet..?

Sounds like a bad color cartridge. Start by cleaning the bottom of the cartridge where the ink comes out of with a blank paper until the ink shows on the paper for all colors. If you can't get them to show all colors i would take the cartridge back and tell them it is defective.

Bought new ink and not all the colors are printing black ink works good but colors red and yellow not showing up

Mostly, printer cartridge error occurs when the printer head is unable to identify the cartridge properly. And the basic reason behind this is that the cartridge is improperly attached.

To reattach the cartridge check the following steps :

turn on the lid of the printer and then remove the cartridge from the printer head.

Check the cartridge to make sure that there are no scratches or other damaged parts that can contribute to a printer cartridge error report.

Take note that the cartridge should not be left open for more than 30 minutes; otherwise the ink will start to dry up and the cartridge will get clogged.

I have a kodak ESP-3 all in one printer that has a new black, and new color ink cartridge, and the printer does not print any colors. only prints black, grey, and a litte bit of greenish tint.

Inkjet printers do not like being left unused.
The color print head may be blocked. Try several deep cleaning of the print head to see if it can clear the blocked print nozzles.
If none of this works then the print head needs to be replaced.
A new cartridge will not solve this problem.
NOTE the print head is not a cheap item, you may consider putting the money towards a new and better printer.

I have a ESP 3 all in one printer. I am out of the color cartridge and it will not let me print just using the black cartridge. WHY??????

Different printers will work differently, even within the same brand, like your Kodak Printer for instance.

Some printers will work with a black cartridge only without the color, and some printers need both color and black and white cartridges to be filled in order to work at all.

It's just a design thing.

If you go under the printer settings there should be a maintenence file. Try to clean the heads.

Uneven color in black only all other colors are good. All toner cartridges are brand new

It sounds like you have a faulty black cartridge. Even the genuine cartridges can have this problem
