Question about HP PSC 2410 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

HP2410 does not print, just keeps making a clicking sound

When attempting to print, the printer makes this clicking noice. Almost like the paper won't advance or something. I don't see anything in the front or the back that looks odd. Now this morning, it doesn't turn on at all (will keep trying on that, but need help with the first.). Any ideas???!!

Chat with me live, I might be able to fix it. Its probably cables problem that it doesnt turn on, and attempting on printing might be the driver's installation. Again, chat live with me I might be able to fix it.

I can't get anything to print from tray 1, the manual feed. I'm trying to print envelopes and they keep printing on 8.5x11 paper from tray 2. If I put envelopes in tray 2 it won't print

Have you already tried this? After you click print and select your printer, click properites and select your paper from 8.5x11 to Envelope.

PRINTER IS JAMMED SHOWING ERROR

I had a similar problem, my printer was chewing the paper and then I was getting a jammed paper message. I looked inside but couldn't see much anything. I then removed (unscrewed) all the panels, and next I know, a culprit materialized, in other words, something fell inside the printer. I then managed to put it all back together, ended up with a few extra screws, but heck it works like a clockwork. God bless screwdrivers with magnetic tips, they made my life so easier.

Got the C5180 from a relative because it didn't work. I tried a new black ink tank, it doesn't print anything in black. Color print looks weak and washed out without black for shadow, and black...

The printed output is fuzzy, blurry, or grainy, or the edges of objects in the images are jagged. Solution Follow these steps until the issue is resolved. Step one: Check your paper
  • Many papers have printing and non-printing sides. Load the paper with the printing side down.
  • Use the correct paper type for the project. For everyday documents, plain paper works well. For documents with dense printing, such as high-contrast graphics or photographs, use HP Advanced paper for the best results.
  • If these steps do not help, try a different paper. Ink might not bleed as easily on heavier paper. Paper that does not accept ink well is also prone to bleeding and smearing. HP designs its inks and papers to work together.
Step two: Check the settings
  1. In the program being used for printing, click File , and then click Print . The Print window opens.
  2. Make sure the appropriate product is selected, and then click Preferences or Properties . The Preferences/Properties window opens.
  3. Click the Printing Shortcuts tab. Consider modifying some or all of the options in the Printing Shortcuts menu to increase print quality.
    • Print quality : If the quality of the printouts is not acceptable, try increasing the print quality. To print more quickly, try decreasing the print quality.
    • Paper type : If one of the options matches the paper type exactly, select it instead of Automatic .
    • Paper size : Make sure that this option matches the paper loaded in the product.
To see additional options, click the Advanced tab, and then click Advanced Features . The Advanced Features window opens. Consider changing the following option: Ink volume : Adjust the amount of ink that prints on a page. For lighter images (less ink), drag the slider to the left. For darker images (more ink), drag the slider to the right. The lighter the ink volume, the more quickly the printout dries.
Step three: Check image resolution Make sure that the image file has enough resolution for the size of the printed picture. Although many photo applications can enlarge an image or part of an image to any size, eventually the individual pixels become visible and the whole image looks blurry. Here are some general guidelines for image file resolutions:
  • 94 pixels per cm (240 pixels per inch) for images to print on smaller format photo paper, such as 10 x 15 cm (4 x 6 inch)
  • 117 pixels per cm (300 pixels per inch) or higher for larger format photo papers
  • Lower resolutions might produce acceptable images when printed on rough-textured paper
Step four: Align the cartridges If the previous steps have not improved the appearance of the printout, align the cartridges. See the user guide for alignment instructions.

When trying to print the paper won't feed through. It will on the left side (looking at the front of the printer) but won't on the right preventing it to print. I just bought and replaced both...

There could be something blocking the paper path. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder. Grab a flashlight and look into the feeder. Make sure there are foreign objects or debris that could cause this problem.

My printer canon pixma mp198 is having a problem with the paper. the paper cannot "get into the printer"

The printer is clogged up with something in the roller. Or you dont have the paper perfectly lined up in the paper tray. Make sure all the paper is perfectly stacked in the tray before attempting to print anything. Or you might have a bad printer.

Paper in the main tray catches and then tries to go into the printer diagonally. I switched the button to the paper tray in front but usually it defaults back to the main tray.

It's most like that there's something stuck (such as a bit of paper) that's causing the paper to skew like this so first port of call is to try and check the printer over for any errant blockages like this from all angles...

The paper tray path from the bottom is tricky to get to but it is possible and you'll probably need someone to carefully hold the printer on it's front while you examine behind the green flap. Whatever you do, don't pull on anything or you could break things.

As a work around though, the other tray can be defaulted to by doing the paper selection on the front as you already are but also on your computer(s) but selecting:

  1. START
  2. Printers & Faxes
  3. right click on [MP500 printer]
  4. Choose "Printing preferences"
  5. Setup the Paper source to use the "Auto Sheet Feeder" rather than cassette.
If you're using the printer via a machine that's sharing it you can default new machine connections by doing the same thing on the sharing machine except you get to printer preferences via:

  1. START
  2. Printers & Faxes
  3. Right click and choose "Properties"
  4. Choose the "Advanced" tab
  5. Click on "Printing Defaults"
  6. ... from here on in it's as above setting paper source, etc...

Hope that helps...

Did you have any recent jams that may have left a bit of paper in the printer?
