Question about JVC HD-52G886 52" Rear Projection HDTV
On the bottom middle of the screen a 12"x10" darkened area. Not sure if its a "burn in" from playing Wii video games, or another issue.
Hi, don`t know if you`ll be able to find this but D9405 a surface mount diode on the main power supply board is a known issue for yours and many other models, it has to be re-soldered not replaced, other joints in area may also need to be "touched up", other than that I had one where connector CN310 was not seated correctly, one side of plug was cocked way up, other than those 2 you may have a bad ballast (board that the lamp is connected to), Be sure that the lamp door is securely closed as they have a switch built into them and if the switch is not closed the set WILL NOT start, hope this helps you out, BMW Rider

Turn tv off and unplug it. Take the access door off either side of the tv. Use a dust cleaning tool like a swiffer with an extension (or make one). Clean off lens (most likely the problem). I have the same thing that happens to my JVC 61". You can use a vacuum with extension if your VERY careful.

your lamp is burned out, buy a new one online and replace according to the instuctions sent with new lamp. this a cheap and easy fix-dont believe anyone that tells you different-they are usually people that work in the tv repair industry and want everyone to think they belong at NASA!!!
