Question about Dell Inspiron 1300 Notebook
Each time I get a response I read it and have to make it more clear. Ok here goes. I have a TS-632D ver.3 dvdrw drive but the only problem is that its not on my device manager, and my computer. It turns on when I boot up and I have tried to search for free software for it from the company. It is nowhere located on the laptop system. So I have a drive that works(powers up) but doesnt do a thing. Doesnt read or write dvds. When I click on the icon it says insert cd. And now I am wondering should I buy a new drive or is this a plug in play drive that I have? So once again...its not registrying on device manager and isnt anywhere in the system. I can get firmware but I need the software for it if it comes with software. This is so complicated.....wow!
Here is your product support webpage .
Click on the CD/DVD firmware, download and install.
PS You are correct,As long as a player/burner has power attached to it it wil light up and run but this had nothng to do iwith it communicating with the computer. This only had to do with the mechanics of the device.
