Question about Computers & Internet
Oh this is a returning issue with my Canadian users. The keyboard is french, that is the one with the E letter things at the place you normally have the question mark. It is indeed a keyboard layout but it gets randomly selected. Saw this problem only on VISTA so I will describe how to do it in Vista.
Go to Control Panel, Regional and Language Options, Keyboards and Languages, Change Keyboards. Here you will see all keyboard layouts installed. Make sure you remove any that you do not need or if you see the french one even, remove that by selecting the one causing you problem and choose Remove.
If you don't remove the keyboard map, when this switch happens, you'll have to exit the application you're in (Outlook, for example), change keyboards, and restart the app. Changing keyboards without restarting the app doesn't change the mapping.
If the above solution for whatever reason does not work, just push Shift and Ctrl at the same time, hold it pushed for about 5-10 seconds and let go at the same time. You have to be in the active window (the application in which you tried to type and it gave you E-s instead of ?-s) for this to work. But please try my first suggestion first with the keyboard layouts because I am confident that is your problem.
Please rate if this solution was helpfull. :)

Excellent. I found holding the shift and ctrl buttons at the same time for 5 seconds worked for my problem.
Have you tried a different keyboard?
Do you know what Keyboard Language was chosen when the computer was set up? Which Operating System, XP or VIsta?
You may just need to change the Regional and Language settings.
