Pioneer DVR-1910LS will not eject drawer

Installed new Pioneer DVR-1910LS DVD burner in my XP system. At first, everything seemed to work OK. Next day, light comes on, but drawer will not eject either manually or through XP. Two questions: Does anyone know the problem/solution? How do you contact Pioneer cust. serv?

I, "glueguy", solved my own problem. One DVD burner's jumper was set for "cable select" and the Pioneer was set for "primary". Both were on the same cable.

Try running a firmware update. You can get the firmware at the following link: http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/support/software/DVR-112DSV/index.html#download_103

If you have not ran your windows updates yet you might try to do that. Alot of issues like these were fixed with service pack 2 for windows XP. Hope this able to help you.

Welcome to Fixya.

Seems like you're having a software issue that prevents your system to read/run a disc when inside the operating system. I have included the official fix from Microsoft:

DVD Drive Troubleshooting

All you have to do is to click on "Run Now" and follow the on screen prompts - just remember to eject any CD that you may have inside the drive.

Please note that if this does not work, then the drive needs to be replaced. You may contact Pioneer for replacement options in case that happens.

Hope this helps and Thanks for using FixYa.

I have data to save to a disc on windows xp to the Pioneer DVR. Every disc I place in the drive seems to be full; no capacity or space available.

The burner is defective: the laser sensor is not working correctly. It cannot be fixed, you will need to replace the burner.

your DVD ROM lens has became weak.
and it cannot be repaired.
But if you manage to open the DVD ROM clean the dust in it & it will start working again but be careful remember that no power should be attached to ROM.
or you can buy a lens cleaner from market and try that.
pls rate my solution

Sony DVD RW DRU-820A

HI,
Double check the Ribbon Cable Connector is installed Correctly ( 40-80 Strand IDE ) sometimes if these are not fitted squarely Or pushed in hard enough. Can cause a Problem.
Also try the emergency eject procedure on The Drive. Small jewellers screwdriver Or Needle, insert into the drives faceplate ( pinhole in drives faceplate drawer ) push to open dvd drawer. pull out drawer Gently. And push back in. This ocassionally works for a stcking Drawer/eject mechanism.
Finally try the drive without a disk in ( open/eject Or Close )

Pioneer DVD Burner no longer reading burnt disks...

yes your quite correct, starforce once installed can damage the fimware more so for multi writers, a common problem will be slower recording speeds. It can even damage the hardware itself and render the writer totally useless. If your getting to that stage, for the price of a new writer, it's not worth the worry, replacing the drive is the only answer.
