Working. I dont know if its a plug in play or if it came with software. But anyhow My inspiron isnt registrying the drive. I tried to find download software but couldnt find any. The dvdrw drive turns on when the computer turns on but on the my computer section the cd drive icon is there but when I click on it it says insert cd. But now its a TS-632D ver.3. What shall I do? I had a solution on here but wasnt a step by step processes so that I dont delete any files which will corrupt my laptop. Someone help........
Hah. last time i had this happen it was hardware failure on the cd/dvd drive... i hope this isnt the case!
these drives always have satisfactory drivers in windows itself. in your device manager, (control panel--> system-- hardware tab--device manager), does it show your drive in the right place? or is it below in the yellow question mark category indicating that there's a problem?
from your descrition, it sound a bit like you have a bad disk in there not a bad drive, but that's just a guess at this point.
in the device manager, if you "uninstall" your drive, on reboot, the drivers will be installed again ( I assume you have windows xp?). this may help refresh your drivers...
I remember in an older laptop, I upgraded to windows xp service pack 3, and it was that service pack that made my drive at weird, so i went back to sp2
