Also, never transmit with them in the charging cradle. I know, lots do but you risk ruining the radio beyond repair.

Use a audiovox walkie talkie

What is your question about using the walkie talkie? These are standard FRS low power walkie talkies. You need to set both to the same channel. Turn both on. Push the transmit button and speak into the microphone which is on the face of the radio. You should hear the voice in the other walkie talkie.

Note; all of these FRS talkies have substantially less range than advertised. They should provide reliable service within about 1/4 mile line of sight, no more. In an urban environment with lots of buildings you will get less.

What does Mon mean on a walkie talkie?

"Mon" is short for "Monitor" and is usually a feature that allows you to momentarily break the squelch (signal filter) and hear anything being transmitted on that frequency. That includes static if there's no transmissions. It allows you to listen for a weak signal that can't break the squelch threshold you have set. Some radios allow you to lock it open by pressing and holding the MON button for a few seconds. Turn the feature off my doing the same thing.

Where can I get a manual for my Bell South Model #1080 Walkie Talkie.

Try Google. Those radios were made for BellSouth by another company and the manuals should be available if you can find out what the company was.

Hello Ty,

Tis a problem you have there, however I would advise you take one of your radios to radioshack or similar store, and the folk there should be able to assist in finding the apropriate chargers for you.

I hope this helps you in your quest.

Peter
