Here is a step by step guide. First you'll need a compatible wireless router that can be found by going to the following site:
http://www.nintendowifi.com/
From there, select your country, which will then take you to the WiFi index page. On this page,
mouse over TECH SUPPORT at the top and from the menu that drops down, click on ROUTER INFO. Near
the top of the following page, under the words "I don't own a wireless router, help me find one!"
there is a "click here" link, which will finally take you to Nintendo's wireless router rating
page, which you can look through to either see if your router will work or if you don't have a
router, which one to get. For reference, if you live in North America, here is the router rating
page.
The following are pics I took of my TV when first setting up my Wii's internet connection...
From the wii home menu...

Go to Wii Options in the lower left.

Click on Wii Settings to the right.

From this first list, click the right arrow.

Now on page 2, click on Internet.

Then click Connection Settings.

From this list, click Connection 1.

Then, click Wireless Connection...

and then click Search for an Access Point.

It will briefly search for any access points and when this screen comes up, click OK.

The following will be a list of nearby access points. If the one you are looking for doesn't show
up, click Try again. Then, click the one you have access to...

When the following screen appears, click OK...

and OK again.

It will test the connection...

And if successful, the following will drop down. Click Yes to update Wii.

Sometimes the above screen is false, saying there is an update when there isn't and the following
will appear...

Now, back in Wii System Settings, click on WiiConnect24.

From the following list click WiiConnect24.

Click On and then Confirm to save your settings. This feature allows for updates to be seemlessly
sent to your Wii so you don't have to do the final step every time.

Ok, the final step, just as a way to make sure your Wii is up to date. Click the right arrow from
the 2nd page of Wii System Settings.

Click Wii System Update...

click yes...

it will test your connection for a few seconds...

an update screen may quickly come up and tell you there is an update (whether or not your Wii
actually needs one)

and the following screen will appear. Click Wii Menu to finish.

1 Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives. 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive. 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'. 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place. 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now. if you require further assistance please let me know and i will be glad to assist you. -Midwest-tek

Trying to connect to the internet for netflix to wii

Well you need first a home internet connection, and a wireless router. After that just go to the wii system menu, settings, internet, and you can connect to your wireless router with the password you setup on the computer to the router.

There are two types of controllers now available for the wii.
  1. Wii remote
  2. Wii remote plus
The regular Wii controller will cost about $15-20 and can be found at retailers such as best buy, target, or game-stop. If you would like to purchase it online click here to get it from amazon

The Wii remote plus has better motion tracking and will run you about $35-40 and can be found at retailers such as best buy, target, or game-stop. If you would like to purchase it online click here to get it from amazon

Please try the following troubleshooting: Are you using WEP or WPA security on your router? Log into the router using the default IP (consult your router's manual for assistance) Locate the "wireless security" section of your router settings and find the WEP or WPA key. If you are using 64-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 10-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F. If you are using 128-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 26-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F. The WEP Key must be a Hexadecimal (0-9, A-F, no other special characters or letters). If your router has multiple slots for a WEP Key, make sure the active key is the one in the #1 slot. If you are using WPA, the Wii console is compatible with the following types: WPA - PSK (TKIP) WPA - PSK (AES) WPA2 - PSK (AES)
If your WEP or WPA key is correct, then the problem might be related to MAC address filtering: From the router settings, locate the "MAC address filter" settings (also known as "access control", "access list", or "network filter" depending on your router model). If the Mac address filter is set to "enabled", then you must add the Wii's MAC address to the "allowed" list. You can locate the Wii's MAC address from the "console information" page (located under "Internet" in the Wii Settings). If the Mac address filter was disabled, then continue troubleshooting.

Check Nintendo's router info for special notes, if available, for your router. Click here to go to our Wireless Router lookup page. Use the drop-down box to select, if available, your router manufacturer. Click on your router's model number, if available. Read any "special notes" at the top of the router's page. Many issues can be solved by changing settings described in the "special notes."

Try a "Manual Setup" with the Wii console (how to), using your network's IP configuration settings. To access these settings: On your PC, click "Start" and then "Run." Type "CMD" into the field that appears to open a new window. Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press "Enter" to display a list of internet settings. Locate the settings asked for by the Wii console during the Manual Setup process and enter them.

Power cycle your router and modem by unplugging them both from the wall. Wait a few minutes, and plug the modem back in. Wait a couple of minutes for the modem to initialize, then turn on the router. Try to connect the Wii console online and test for proper response. if you require further assistance please let me know and i will be glad to assist you. -Midwest-tek

I have a NYKO wireless sensor bar. When I turn it very rarely picks up the remote. I have not found a single review or troubleshooting guide online that hasn't been planted by them. I am wondering if my...

I had the same problem but what you need to do if you have a digital camera or even a camera phone point the camera lens at the sensor bar standing 1.5-2 feet from the bar with the console on if you see 3 white dots on both IR reciver ports then the bar works, if not go the store where you got it and buy another put the defective bar in the same package and return the defective one and keep the new one. You may need to move your wireless router to another room if possible. if this dont work e-mail me @ jtenford@gmail.com
